A great example of using d6 Might after you know what you're doing 😉 obv, this would require someone in the party to be a Guardian capable of keeping you out of trouble, and in the absence of such an ally, this character would have to be rebuilt or it will prove a bit miserable, due to the random targeting rules. Other than that, I think this is a super interesting character, and I love that you went and tried to fit all the random bits you rolled - it's tough to do, especially with contrasting concepts, and I think you managed!!!

Hi, I'd like to point out some things I've noticed. Not that it mattered, but you were only meant to pick one character concept from one of the columns instead of all three (two). It made a truely unique character though. And the free benefits are what you get for picking the first level of a class. So the second level in entropist does not give you another +5 MP.

The advantage of Low Magic for a writer can be explained with Brandon Sanderson's Three Rules of (Functional) Magic (for Fantasy Authors). I paraphrase: 1. If you want the characters to be able to use magic to solve their problems, it is more enjoyable for the readers, if they understand the rules of your magic system. 2. What magic can NOT do, is more important than what it can do. 3. Start small with just a few magical effects and extrapolate how they can and will influence the setting, before you add new magical effects to it.

Great vid! I'm glad you revisited Fabula Ultima and looked at what is (imo) the most exciting part of the book, the character creation. You're definitely right in saying some classes feel "supplemental", and I think this can be said for all classes -- the Guardian doesn't have much beyond just defending, for example. That's where it's important that multiclassing isn't only encouraged, it's *mandatory*. Dividing up "good at ___ (ranged attacks, defense, knowledge, etc.)" into individual classes, and then giving players free range to pick anything they like from any classes they like (but always mutliple classes) ensures each PC is going to be good at multiple things and bring a unique combination to the game. I think an apt comparison between DnD5e and Fabula Ultima is like a set course meal vs a buffet. In 5e you start with X set meal, you get the appetizer, then a salad, then a main, etc. that builds a general fantasy archetype; and if you want to mix two very different archetypes, you're always starting from the appetizer. In Fabula, you can choose anything you like from the whole restaurant and mix it on your plate as you see fit, finding all kinds of synergies that "come online" as soon as you like, with the only limitation being that you can't have 100% salad or 100% appetizer. Anyway, glad you gave this game a more thorough look!

Reading Fury, the Adrenaline ability mentions it be applied to spells. So is this the mage who ramps emotion into their magic?
