@@naerampokku One of the ways is to increase the wages and also have a minimum wage limit for a days work 8 hrs. The problem in India is that wages are based on demand and supply so a low skilled worker that are in abundant supply will make peanuts even though the work is hard and manual. By increasing wages profits of the company will reduce but I feel this is needed and the only way to improve the next generation of these low skilled workers.

These trends also shows a dangerous side of Indian economy, the wage gap disparity! This shows how 1-2% Indians are on spending spree because of the disposable income at hand while more than 50% is struggling to make there dajly needs. .Indians should use more local resources then international brand and foreign travels. Atleast this will help a small business to grow rather then large corporates or foreign brands

Remember, much of the economy is run by credit and not money. The amount of credit in circulation is very high in our economy as getting credit is easy these days. Credit simply means you are borrowing from your future self. More people are living off credit these days means less savings. Hence until we keep earning well in future and our income streams in future are consistent, this entire development is postive. If this trend continues, our economy would become more vulnerable to economic crises'.

It is good that people are getting rich. I am glad that India is getting rich, you deserve it, but remember not to go the way of China and the way of pollution of the Earth, everything that will be built, produced should be environmentally friendly, even the price of such construction will be worthwhile... because you will not have to change quickly, etc. This reminds me that the corona pandemic did not teach the world anything, but was supposed to be a reminder of humanity and the earth, because people went too far in their behaviour. Once again I note that it is now what it was before the pandemic but even more intensified, no lessons have been learned. Well, I think it is time to remember....

It is not majority Indians, but a very small % of elite Indians, who can afford these things. Spending is good for the economy, but only if it stays within the country. You need to understand that what she is talking about is the top 0.5 % or even lower of the indian population. She conveniently forgot to mention that. The rest of the 99.5% cannot afford anything remotely considered luxurious like a bmw or 1/.5 lac per night hotel room.

@@sacmarv8997 So you are looking at the actual number? 7.5 million people? Then let's also look at the number of people below poverty line. Care to bring up that number? A safe modest estimate is that 30% of Indias population is below the government prescribed poverty line which is again an extremely modest limit. 30% means 450 million people which almost 1.4 times the population of USA. This makes India the poorest country in the world with the largest number of poorest people. If we take all this poor people and create a separate country for them and name it pooristan it will be the 3rd largest country by population after India and China.

@@rishabh798 That is your maid and she may be well to do, you are only looking at things from your side, things aren't as simple as that.. the poor are still poor, progress and change has been slow and this is because we have a broken democracy where politicians only care to get votes and win elections, they don't have vision, they don't have foresight, all they care is about winning elections. Ours is a still a very poor country, a low income country with $2500 per capita income. When govt talk they only talk about gdp and not gdp per capita.

Everything is contextual. It cannot be generalized like Indians are splurging on luxuries. What is happening is that more poor are getting into the middle class or atleast lower middle class but there is a catch to it. The catch is huge subsidies food, medical, education given to the poor by Central and State governments. So while their incomes increase their spending stays the same or even reduced. The same is not true for the middle or upper middle class. Their incomes increases up to a point the direct taxes hit hard, upgrade in lifestyle increases expenditure (consider how much monthly maintenance you pay in that gated community high rise). So the middle incomes are stagnant, the 0.5% rich are getting richer, more poor are getting into middle class. Net result is that there is a danger of India becoming trapped as a middle income economy forever, with pockets of affluence amid poverty.

It’s appalling how we pat our backs. Just for comparison BMW sold 340,000 units in 2021 in USA. Compare that with 8500 in India. And it gets worse when you compare the population of 1.4 billion vs 340 million in the US. It’s like 160 folds greater. This when the GDP of USA is only like 10 times more than India!! And we are supposed to get happy and feel proud 😢 It’s like the moon launch wow we did it or did we ?, well it takes 40 days to get there , When Apollo missions 50 years ago took like 4 -6 days😅. No one asked because we are busy patting our back!!

But India didn’t spend billions creating a massive powerful rocket like the Apollo where they shot it up aiming at the moon directly. India’s smaller space probe needs gravity assist to circle around the earth several times, only firing up it’s boosters hand full of times to increase it’s orbit after some days, it will be able to break free from earth’s gravitational orbit. Then finally head to the moon. India’s is cost effective but will take longer. It’s a bit more complex to do what India does to save money.
@venkatmanian2256

And it’s something to be proud of that we cannot spend billions and build a direct way to get there? Who’s fault is that. @@venkatmanian2256 Did you forget the loss of wealth and brutal islamic and british invasions that Indian subcontinent endured? British alone took $45 trillion out of India and left it in absolute poverty. The industralization of the west was built on deindustralization of India,. All of the funding to build America went from expeditions funded by stolen wealth from the east. American economy was build by slaves labor at no extra cost, practically free slave labor. Took awhile for India to build back up especially when it was run by corrupt british agents left behind like the Gandhi- Nehru congress. Now we finally have a true nationalistic government trying to speed up the process. At least India is trying and achieving feats on a budget, which is gradually bringing in more revenue to go for larger projects. Gotta appreciate that than always sulking in a corner like a sore loser, not trying at all.
