I realized that Palki’s English, which has Indian accent, is easy on my ears than the standard American/British English. There are no nasal sounds, no twisting of tongue when saying words containing ‘r’ sound, no unnecessary change in stress between syllables within the same word etc. What do you think?

No.. to have your own company you have to set it up under the Companies Act of your country. As a "freelancer " you're a qualified professional - free to work for any company or organization. The only way to carry your work forward and make yourself known is to 1) incorporate all your past completed projects on your resumé, and put together a portfolio of your past work 2) get a few reference letters from past employers saying you've completed projects with them 3) build your detailed profile on important professional websites like LinkedIn and other social media sites and let the world know what you do. 4) actively scout for your next job before you've completed your previous job and let people in your industry know you're ready for your next gig.

The secret to be successful in Freelancing is You have to be knowledgeable and be extremely good, preferably the best at what you do on that platform... The first gig may not come easily...(I sent out bids for 2 straight months before my first break of $50 job for a high-end legal service) BUT when You get going and You continually improve...folks will beg you to accept $500 - $750 jobs... If you're into Tech...(programming, C+, C++, Website building, front and back end and the sorts) If you are freaking good, it's almost like Narcotics money... With some downside though, you get bored over time... And believe me IT IS TIME CONSUMING... You begin to think... is this my path to becoming Elon Musk...?🤷‍♂️ Hell nah... one would need a big break, coupled with accumulated gains and investments from freelancing...

Becoming a billionaire isn't something one should strive for, given the astronomically low odds, because they face a life of disappointment. Additionally, most of the so-called self made billionaires are only self made in the sense that they didn't necessarily inherit a fortune to work with. However, they were still born in the upper-middle class and received top education, both at home from a young age as well as from attending prestigious universities, which gave them the connections they needed. Additionally, they never had to worry about trivial things such as "how am i going to pay my bills, rent and food without getting a job?", thus being able to invest as much time as they needed to succeed. With that said, they're all highly intelligent people (genetically gifted or just a result of being in the right environment from an early age), but that's only one of the check boxes from an entire manuscript required to get to that level, many of which are completely out of one's hand (life's randomness, RNG, right place right time, etc.).

More than 80% of entire gig economy violates employment rights of workers of the respective countries they belong to. Gig employment is a very well perpetrated scam by big corporations to evade laws and what not. Governments are aware of it but don't act because they too are part of the same ecosystem to allow the mafia to survive. For a lot of people so called gig economy doesn't work for long and they suffer. The economy and the money it gives is like drugs and sex that people get addicted to and cant survive for long. Here's how I'd get into Freelance: 1. Gain as much skills that will make your life easier when you do start doing gigs. 2. Once you are 30 start doing gigs during long holidays ( usually getting the 1st client is the hardest part). Do this for the next 10 years. 3. At 40, assuming you have payed off all your loans and have a house that's truly yours and have additional income streams ( cuz you should) quit the full time and do the gigs from then on, since you would have a decent completion rate by then because u have been doing gigs since the past 10 years, you can basically ask more per hour and you would still get the gig. Now the whole thing could be done sooner asuming you already have a achieved getting a house and enough for your children's education.

Gig economy is just another way for companies to avoid responsibility and not paying benefits (pensions, taxes and health insurrance). Luckily they are clamping down on this in the EU. Claiming that young people want this is utter bullshit. They have no choice and end up getting scewed over when its time to buying houses or go into pensions. Edit: Let’s also not forget that in some countries you will not get unemployment benefits unless you have additional insurance.

Gig worker a modern term, but such temp work has existed for many years as contract work or temp work. I have contracted for many years and wouldn't change it for any permanent job, it's great to know the so called gig working is thriving, however here in the UK in 2020 the IR35 legislation was passed by the government and has pretty much killed the entire freelance / contractor sector. Freelance / contract workers suffering, companies suffering because they can't get the talent on temp basis, it's a complete shambles and the UK government is always right and knows what's best of course!! You can look into this and reconfirm your stats. Palki the best news anchor in the world, keep up the good work.

If anyone wishes to use gig work for the long haul then they should do their homework on what they have to offer to companies. Then set an end time (e.g., like six months or one year timeframes) in the event there is not enough work.

Freelancing is not a joke, its a complete set of skill including marketing, business handling ,the actual skill required to complete the task and what not, some days u will be earning lakhs and someday month will pass by without any client, so essentially zero ,the uncertainity is what the major issue here, trust me I am telling from my personal experience..

I am working from home since 2016, it is not that easy, I have my freedom and feel really free but this type of job only for disciplined people, it is not for everyone. At last I love my job even when I work sometimes 14-16 hours in day, other times 6-8 hours.

As in terms is the issues with renting etc and looking stable you will create your own agency so you are not hustling for project works rather you are tendering for them as your own entrepreneurial business. Many people with start their agencies to hook in constant project work.

Everything well said and reported. Well, you may be a gig or geek, Rather just focussing on economy, one has to first figure how economically well being is taken care off. The examples cited countries economy plays an important role to decide flexibility in the work force. It's all about how well the tech can help individuals well being. Demand - Necessity - Supply all that matters.

Useful for people who like flexibility over stability. Skill in a particular area is a must. Certain amount of appetite for risk-taking required. Financial planning for building a corpus for purchases involving capital outlays and also for ensuring financial security after retirement are other requirements. It provides ample rewards, no doubt. Once again a good contemporary topic and a Good analysis. Wish you All the best

It is surprising how many humans do not feel they have the divine right to experience an abundant life. This is so sad, when you consider that true abundance isn't something bought, or given, it is something that is shared. Till at last we rise forever in the arms of perfect love.
