Thank you so much for acknowledging the cost of Memorial Day. As a Gold Star family, it is always so difficult to hear people say things like "Happy Memorial Day" or "Enjoy the Memorial Day holiday." I know that it is always meant with the very best intentions, but for our family it is a much more somber day where we remember my husband and all of our friends that lost their lives.

Hi katie. Try the washi tape trick at the bottom to prevent the drills from falling since the lines dont go to the edge. I purchased those trays also after watching your small shop haul. Didnt notice the lines didnt go all the down untill you mentioned it here. I shake and tap my trays the same as you. I'm going to try doing the trick when mine get me. Just a thought. Hi Katie. As always, thanks for keeping me company while I am working on Doorway to the Stars by Josephine Wall from Diamond Painting Deutschland. So confetti party over here. Also, I am so happy to share this with you because I think you will get it... Yesterday I went to a friend's house for a Memorial Day BBQ and I saw another friend who I had not spoken with since right after C*V*D. I thought I had offended her or something so I was very apprehensive. Long story short, one of the reasons we had become quick friends years ago was we had similar family issues and similar mental health struggles. Years ago I had given her a small diamond painting I did of Rosie the Riveter. Ends up she has been going through some additional mental health struggles and she remembered me telling her about how diamond painting helped, she loved the picture I had given her, so she has taken up diamond painting with the complete approval of her therapist! So in a way, I have been helping her all this time...she just did not feel up to reaching out. We talked for hours about diamond painting and the fantastic online community. Needless to say, I am sending her a link to your channel. As time goes by, I become more and more proud of this craft and am glad to have found creators, such as yourself, who are in this for the benefits and fun, and not notoriety and/or money. So thank you for all that you do and enjoy the retreat! 🐲

I will say that I signed my 6 year old up for her summer activities and we found a soccer league done in an indoor gym for 7 Saturdays and a week long art camp at the end of summer. She’s so excited.

Thank you for the WIP and chat, Katie. I have a 2016 CRV and have had it since brand new (my one and only brand new car) and plan to have it forever 😉, they are good SUV's. I have never been to a retreat!! I’m an introvert too and just not sure about it… I think if I could stay off site in a hotel at night just to have down time would be good but then I feel like it’s taking away from the experience!😂😅 It is so hard to leave your family and home especially when your kids are young. But it is good for you to have some time away! I think you become a better parent when you have moments away for yourself- even if it’s just an evening. I hope you have a great time!! I know so many will be excited to meet you and spend some tone with you:) 🥰🥰

👽👽👽👽👽 Hi Katie, good morning from Los Angeles County. Couldn't find any Dragons, so Space Aliens will have to do. Love your WIP and Chat. Have fun at the retreat. Why didn't you get an air/car package? Cheaper that way. Congratulations on your new car. My Dad worked for GM, so I get the employee discount. I had two cars which gave me nightmares. My first was an Olds Starfire. Cute, sporty car. Was possessed by a Demon. The car would turn itself on in the middle of the night. Had to keep the car at 70mph, otherwise it would stall. I couldn't get the car to turn off. I never locked my doors. I had my pink slip for the car and a large sign which read " Answer my Prayers, and steal this car!" The car was traded in for a 1985 Chrysler Le Baron Turbo. My Mom used to work at Chrysler. Then I ordered in 1992 a Pontiac Grand Prix. I wanted the 3.8 litre turbo. My Dad, my Boss, and Fleet Manager said no, I would kill myself. So I got the 3.1 lite. The car was trouble from day one. Then at Christmas time 1996, my Grand Prix died at the mall. I had the car towed. The next day Blvd called and told me I need a new( duh) engine and new ABS. How much $5grand. What was the car worth? $2grand. I went to Blvd in Signal Hill, and leased a 1996 Silver Gran Am. My credit was so bad, my parents had to sign. My Dad kept yelling " Fix your Grand Prix up." But my Mom, said more things will go wrong. After that I had no problems with my cars. My problem is me. My brain doesn't understand debt. My brain thinks money grows on trees. I realize being ADHD, I shop on impulsively. With my Personal assistant she gets beyond angry with me. Now she is saying that I am going to have to start selling my rentals. My rentals are my income. I have been having lumbar back problems. Yesterday I Diamond painted for an hour. Getting up from the dining room chair was not fun. It is not fun to walk around the house, pick torn things from my Doxle ( Dachshund Beagle mix) Herschel. The pain was so bad last night I couldn't sleep. I you thought about taking your boys to Lighthouses, Griffith Park Observatory, or the horse races. Have fun at the retreat.

I’m so excited for you to be going to the retreat! Jokingly, that is on a bucket list for me, not really joking. As a mom that had 3 small ones and 2 in sports , my son in therapy and speech, even a moment alone was a treat. I’m also proud of your new to you car. I am with you about vehicles. I keep mine forever and I do get attached to them . Current, I have a 20 year old truck and a 10 year old car. If you take care of them, they will last a really long time. When my truck was seriously damaged in a wreck few years ago, the insurance wanted to total it. I refused and searched around until I found a body shop that would fix it. It took 3 months to get it repaired, but I still have my truck!

Make it so! That's a nod to my vote that you watch TNG for your next trek adventure. You used the pretty pen, I was so happy when I saw it ❤🐉. I had a CRV and it was love. Depending on the model you can get a tent attachment for the back and camp in it. Anywho congrats on the car and have fun at the retreat. Your hubby will be fine, try not to be anxious and relish in your "me time".

I was working on Chuck Pinson's Fly Fishing Legacy. I've been working on this big confetti heavy piece since March 17th. I jusy have to keep telling myself...."slow & steady wins the race....it's not a sprint....it's a marathon." Also have been working on a round canvas that is a little bit smaller to avoid burn-out and taking breaks. Again, cant wait to hear about the fabulous time you have at the retreat! 🐉🐲 Congrats on your new car!! I totally get the tears at parting with the old car. I got my ‘99 Honda Odyssey when my children were 10 & 7 and drove it for 15 years and took them both to far away universities in it. SOOO many happy memories were made in it. Not a day of trouble from it!! I am working on DAC’s “Golden” while enjoying your video. For Summer With the Masters, I was originally planning on doing The New Novel by Winslow Homer that I got from Enabler’s Outpost. But then I also fell in love with and ordered “Maternal Affection” by Hugues Merle that I ordered from Jaded Gem Shop which she now has on her site. I never participate for prizes, but I always enjoy SWTM. I got a head start on mine this year. It is a large landscape = 105x70. It is 'A Gust of Wind' from 1865. It is working up really quickly - I expect to actually get it finished during the event!

Hi Katie! Enjoyed this WIP & chat. I am a huge trekkie. I have enjoyed all star trek, but my favourite is DS9, and I would recommend strange new worlds, it is very good. I am fascinated by the review of the SW hotel, will listen to that. I am also watching a lot of "cruising with ben and David ". Am I planning on ever going on a cruise? No. But somehow their take on this topic is mesmerizing to me😅🐲

I a m also an introvert and although I am also intrigued by going to a diamond painting retreat, I would also be concerned about my alone time. For me currently I'm not in the position to go financially right now. I ordered my kit for summer with the masters from Jaded Gem shop when you first announced it this year. I'm not sure when it will arrive. I am responsible for Jaded now having Card Sharps at her shop now. I thought it would be a fun different take on masters kit for SWTM's. 🐉

HI Katie - So many questions! Regarding how I work on dp's - I always start in the upper right had corner work across and then go back to the right and start on the next row. This process works best for me because I work with my canvases attached to a large foam core board mounted on an artist easel, so flipping the canvas around isn't necessary..

All parents need a mental health break now and then from their children at one point or another do not worry about what others say, I would say most of the people that make comments probably are not parents. I hope you get to have fun at the retreat even if it will be a bit of work too.🐉🐲

Regarding Star Trek - I loved the TNG tv series. I got disenchanted when they started making the movies. I got irritated because it seemed like they destroyed the Enterprise in almost every movie, and we won't even talk about what they did to Data!. The only one of the movies I enjoyed was The Voyage Home - since it is pretty funny.

I’m hoping to participate in summer with the masters. The kit I want to work on for it the artist is definitely from the right timeframe but im having issues finding the date this specific painting was done. I also plan on doing dp for pets and another one or two events. I haven’t decided yet.

I'm from Michigan. You crack me up. Sable is pronounced SAH-BULL. It's French origin. But don't put emphasis on the bull. I was a wreck when my parents sold my childhood home! And the new owners updated and flipped it. Although it needed updates and they did a gorgeous job, can't help but feel sad about "my" house. I follow it on Zillow so I'll know if it comes back on the market. 🐲🐉
