@@LegaultTV I've read it, it was ok. I honestly think his novel Amped was Waaaay better. That one was an awesome read. They both take place in the same universe; Amped was sort of a prequel, and takes place earlier in that timeline I believe.

This short film was so emotionally touching because it holds a strong reality within the story, and that strong reality is LOVE. And here's some insight for those into science fiction...this little science fiction film right here will one day be science fact. The reality may not be as crude looking as it is here in this film, but the circumstances will be very similar...the truth of love will transcend the boundaries and limitations of flesh, thus bringing about a new and deeper and richer definition to the nature of what it is to be truly human.

If we are motivated by love, there is no need for paranoia about the world we are heading into.
@curtchildress7160
@curtchildress7160 8 жыл бұрын
+valar Some of the most paranoid people in the world are those that are in love with other people. Being in love brings in the touchy subject of "trust" ...and "trust" can often lead to paranoia. But, it is true how love can conquer many things...even paranoia from time to time...why not, right?! ...Also, love in the general sense, love amongst people can have a peaceful effect on people, and even prevent or stop wars and hatred...this I believe and know with all my heart and soul...God allows for such a possibility if we choose it.

+Giacomo Cimini You're obviously and insightful and thoughtful man as to how you have the realization that love is a very broad and very deep emotional experience for humanity...and how the experiences of love will become even richer as we progress into a very different future that we cannot even imagine in the here and now.

I'm referring to unconditional love or universal compassion. Love as in loving a particular person or object can of course turn to its opposite, hatred, and other problems.

This was just amazing! I love the fact that we live in the world and time, where an indie filmmaker is not restrained to make low-cost conversational dramas, but can bring his dreams to live in a spectacular fashion like this. Kudos, Mr. Cimini!

Incredible! This might be closer to the reality than any of reality shows. We lie to ourselves to make life easier, choose to see things differently from what they really are, we try to shield our kids from all the horrors around us - sometimes not noticing how much stronger they are compared to us. The boy should not forget, and the father should not pretend... but the reality hurts them so much that they do.

@@mimihammani9801 umm , religion is fake . It's true there's something out there but it's definitely not what we're presented with trough the different religions . I'm sad I'm finding out about this so late. This was so beautifully sad. I really want to see more of this, this is by far my favorite short film, I have ever seen. Things like this are what inspire me to want to be a film maker. To be able to make beautiful things like this. I'm trying to get my scripts out there and I just want to say thank you to the people who made this. When I feel little hope in being able to make my dreams a reality, it's short films like these that show me it's not impossible. So thank you for inspiring me to keep going.

Ask yourself what your happy place would look like. In your mind, you can create your own personal haven. The world around us gives us options to choose from - Snowscapes? Or tropical lagoons? Deep forests, rolling grasslands with wide vistas, or tree-dotted plains alongside a wide river? Lots of other people, solitude, or the company of a few who are special to us?

@AristoAurelius
@AristoAurelius 8 жыл бұрын
+Открытый космос In English: It means the robot child was originally designed to be a weapon. The person who the robot keeps calling papa reconfigured the robot to be a "child". The seller was warning the person that even if the robot was programmed to act as a child, it still had original purposes as a weapon, and could revert back to being a weapon -- which did happen when the robot was attacked later in the video. In Russian (via Google Translate): Chelovek, kotoryy robot prodolzhayet nazyvat' papashu perenastroit' robota , chtoby byt' " rebenok" . Beautiful, a wonderful short, the sort you wish were a full length feature. So worth your time.

Nice to see the author taking the time to reply in the comments, Giacomo. I thought at first you might be a 'bot', but I don't think you are. :)

At about 3AM I am watching this and I must say it’s beautiful. What parent wouldn’t do for their child. I’m not drunk I’m just awake and stumble upon this movie so my review in the middle of the night is sincere.

such a good short. I wish that was longer, I got drawn into it. I love the juxtaposition between the two realities and the how each world and character. The slummy vs. a utopian.

***** I just watched, the actors pulled me into it, so it was really enjoyable. I especially loved the subtle effects, the dingy room with a high tech panel on the wall, the dystopian city with robotic butterflies. A far cry from Hollywood were the CGI overwhelms the film or the film has to depend on special effects. Reminds me of the use of tech in Blade Runner. Thanks again, a pleasure to watch.

Incredible CGI in addition to the story. It's pretty amazing that this sort of stuff can be produced outside of a big budget studio. Kudos to the creators.

Everything about this was wonderfully done, this should be made into a longer film maybe with more story explanation and what exactly the devices in that world do and how it actually affects the characters.
