@luigi fiume @Siddu Porandla that is what the transistor is for. It continuously switches on and off the spool resulting in an alternating electromagnetic field. So induction still works, since the field is alternating

As a young teen I always dreaded wrapping my coils like this with the copper. I always felt like it could cancel out some of the forces since it's perpendicular and now make it not as efficient......simply because I didn't just use glue

No, just find any similar or equivalent ones. From a quick search: BC337 should work, probably a 2N4401 as well (slightly less Ic of 600 mA instead of 800mA for the 2N222A tho. Check specs).

The coil doesn't heats up because of resistence, resistence of the coil is not high as of ex- nichrome wire(used in heating elements) that is why don't heats up and becomes red hot, + Appling Fleming left hand rule we can say changing electric field produces magnet field which act as changing flux in secondary coil, changing flux leads in production of electric field , circuit is closed therefore electric current is produced. Bulb 💡 glows. Use of transistor I'd know 😅
