Thanks, the last part on matching frequency worked perfectly. My previous Hunter was in place for 10 years when the battery gave out. I bought the new rain sensor and got the red light. It didn't go out after an hour. Following the directions explained in the video I got the new sensor to talk to the old controller.

Good explanation of the "matched part" transmitter, too bad the battery is sealed and sometimes only lasts 3-4 years, requiring a sevice call and a total replacement of the transmitter ($130.)

I have an hunter X-Core. I have two stations. 1 and 2. Station 1 didn’t not come on but in the panel it showed it was running. But there was no water coming from the drip to the plants. What is the problem? The number 2 station has no problem.

Does anyone know how much rain is needed to activate the wireless sensor? I have had over an inch of rain and the sensor has not activated (shut off the system).
@dennisdamico50708 жыл бұрын
The sensor eventually shut the system off when we received 1.20" inches of rain as measured on my digital rain gage. So it appears the switch is communicating properly. The sensor is located about ten feet away in an open area that does not obstruct free falling rain. It just may be defective?

Hey Dennis, my technician failed to remove the chrome jumper connecting sensor 1 and 2. Just pull that out and system should shut off when raining.

When my receiver is in active mode the screen always reads OFF. I have to run it in bypass for it to work. Any ideas?

Thank you for contacting Hunter Technical Support If your rain sensor is not shutting off the system, it could be a couple of reasons it is not performing this feature. If you were not able to fix it after going through the steps please reply to the outcome of each step. • Make sure the terminal jumper has been removed. Most irrigation controllers use a sensor circuit that provides terminals where the sensor wires will connect. If the controller uses a normally closed sensor circuit (most common) the terminals will be connected by a jumper clip or wire. This terminal jumper will need to be removed for the rain sensor to operate correctly. • Controllers come with a Rain Sensor Bypass switch. Make sure the switch is in the “Active” or “On” position. • The Mini-Clik sensor can be adjusted to activate at different amounts of rainfall. Check the sensor to see if it is set for the appropriate rainfall amount. • Make sure the sensor is located in an area where it is unobstructed from the rain. Overhangs, trees, or anything else that may prevent rain from reaching the sensor should be avoided. • Wiring shorts on the sensor circuit will not allow the controller to recognize an open circuit when the sensor activates. For example, if the sensor wire were stapled to the siding of the house, a staple could cut into the wire insulation and create a short across the two conductors.

Is there a way to change the battery on the transmitter?
