Well...that depends on how in-depth your drawings and electrical info needs to be. For my business this program here is awesome! It gives me everything that I need to get building permit applications ready for code officers to approve which is all I need the electric side of this program to do. If you need super SUPER detailed electric plan drawings for electrical engineering stuff Autocad is probably more in-depth. But for 95% of the rest of us this program I'm using in this video is your best bet. Eddie

Curious. For this basement would u use two circuits(breakers). One for the lights and another for the outlets? Or would u add a 3rd breaker for the bathroom?

When lights are writes in series this way. If one goes out will they all go out?
@DavidYaraschefski8 жыл бұрын
Hi Eddie. Single switch to the light/fan combo is a bit unusual, isn't it? Most bathrooms have a separate switch for the light, and for the fan, right?

Does the program "recognize" the furnace, hot water heater and washer and dryer when automatically putting in the outlets to code? Looks great!
@BasementFinishingMan10 жыл бұрын
No...it just self populates regular 110 volt outlets to code per room area sizes. You would need to place any special outlets in the plan according to your plan's specifics. Thanks form stopping by our KZbin channel. Eddie

@BasementFinishingMan5 жыл бұрын
Here you can calculate the number of lights required in a room based on the type and size of room. Enter the room size, select the type and choose a light. Notes: Lux: Lux (Illuminance) is a measurement of the light intensity at any point. It is equal to 1 Lumen per square meter.

your killing me Eddie, my customers keep pointing to your videos and saying why are you charging so much, Eddie said a 1000 sq ft was less than 10,000 in materials. I'm just kidding you man, great videos and they do help customers to see what is involved with finishing a basement. I would love for you to do a video showing why we charge what we do ie. paying licensed electricians plumbers and hvac techs and company overhead, you know so people dont think were raking them over the coals. keep doin what your doin man
@BasementFinishingMan7 жыл бұрын
Okay I'll make one...the last thing I want to do is give our basement customers the impression that were all out here filling-up Fort Knox in the process...because we all know that isn't happening! Out "true" costs...our true overhead as contractors isn't cheap. To hire the very best talented craftsman to work along side us everyday takes a huge bite out of what and why we charge what we do, and that needs to be addressed as well. Thanks for the great idea for a future basement finishing video. Eddie
