October 5, 2024, Litchfield, Connecticut- Wisdom House and the Daughters of Wisdom US Delegation celebrated the history of the retreat and conference center, which was initially the Novitiate for United States Sisters, with an open house and special showcasing of history through artifacts, photographic displays and personal reflections to commemorate the transformation of this holy house into a place open to all. Speakers included Sr. Pat Schmidt, one of the first five postulants to enter the Novitiate in 1949. Others offering remarks were Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center Executive Director Deborah Kelly, Sr. Jo-Ann Iannotti, OP, Sr. Ann Gray, DW, Daughters of Wisdom Delegation Leader Sr. Catherine Sheehan, Litchfield Poet Laureate Robert Piazza, who is also a program facilitator at Wisdom House, recited a poem. State Rep. Karen Reddington-Hughes, 66th Connecticut House District, presented a citation on behalf of the legislature for Wisdom House to Sr. Catherine Sheehan, DW.
