I've been on my spiritual journey now for almost 2 months..Asking Jesus Christ to please come in my life.. I gave up the drinking the smoking.. trying to control my lust for women.. but over the last couple days I really been tested.. with the dreams and the thoughts of lust for women.. gluttony with my decision making when it comes to food.. my finances also the relationship with my kids mother's and my kids.. I've been very frustrated sometimes even angry.. preventing me from being able to sleep. I have a clear mind at times.. the only answer I can come up with. Is to continue to pray and stay in my Bible..

Hang in there, I too am struggling with the sanctification process. If and when I fail, I confess and ask for forgiveness. Plus I always forget to ask for help when tempted.

@@richardlarkins3558 Amen to that because what I'm realizing is that. Even the thought of a sin is a sin.. nobody's perfect Like Jesus.. he's the only one, but I will do my best to be pure enough to be in his presence hopefully.

The moment that you believe that Jesus died to pay your sin debt, and you take him as your savior, you are free from the eternal punishment for your sin. The Holy Spirit indwells you, and your relationship with sin changes. You now will feel a deep guilt for the new sins that you commit instead of the joy that they used to bring. That lets you know that what you are doing is sinful. You can not overcome this sin by willpower. Only through the power of the Holy Spirit can you overcome them. It takes time, prayer, and openness about them to other Christians. Don't worry that you are a “bad” Christian. We all go through it, and it takes more tahn a lifetime to get it all, as our bodies are imperfect. Instead, confess it and work on it with the Holy Spirit and the other believers that you have a disciplining relationship with.

I have excellent advice. LISTEN TO TRUTH PASTORS!!! As much as you possibly can!!! John Macarthur, Voddie, RC Sproul, James Merritt, David Jeremiah, Adrian Rogers, Charles Stanley, Steve Lawson, . Of course you need The Bible, BUT! YOU MUST BE TAUGHT THE TRUTH TO BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND. You will start to have a relationship with The Lord. You will KNOW you are in God's will when you are filled with The Holy Spirit and you can't get enough of learning about him, and you WILL put Christ first, and forever will desire holiness and righteousness. You will never want to sin again. You will, but you will do everything not to. The Holy Spirit will give you more Peace and Joy than imaginable. You MUST learn the power of Our Creator. Ken Ham explains Creation beautifully. In order for you to be changed, you must learn and understand the truth. You must have your theology and escotology correct. Your growing relationship with Our Holy Trinity is more real than life itself. I too was in a similar situation. But I hit rock bottom. Jesus saved my life, literally June 10 2020. I have never been the same. I have listened to Sermons by these Pastors since that time. I couldn't get enough. You can have Church any time you want. It is IMPOSSIBLE to please God without knowing him. It is impossible to know him without UNDERSTANDING the word. Not just reading. It MUST be taught to us by truth teachers. The teachings are endless. I hope and pray your walk with Jesus grows fastly and Beautiful. Beware of wolves in sheep clothing. My suggestions for Pastors don't get any better. Truly. God bless you.

Continue to wash your mind with the Word of God, Listen to messages (by Voddie) at night to calm your mind and help focus on the things of the Lord. Many times the Lord wakes me up in the middle of the night to spend time with Him, by getting into His Word and praying over things and others. It's a lifelong journey.

Moralism isn't the answer, but Jesus is in His sacrifice and with that comes also with fruit of the Spirit that changes us. We cannot earn His grace or salvation, but I do think to myself what would He do in situations I'm stuck in.

Soli Deo Gloria. *But… Are you sure you are giving glory to Him?* When you distort the character of God by making Him look more like Shiva (the Hindu god of destruction), than the God of incredible love, patience and mercy from the Bible; The One who commands you to love your enemies and forgive them always!… Are you giving glory to Him? Because... friends, let's be honest. A “god” who creates billions of souls to be sent directly to hell, without any option to be saved… is an extremely cruel god. He is not the God of the Bible. When you tell a sinner that Jesus has only died for a tiny portion of humanity, and that it is very, very unlikely that he will be among them; even though there are *several* texts in the Bible that claim that God sent His Son in ransom for humanity, because He doesn't want anyone to be lost... Are you giving glory to God? Sure? Could it not be... That in the most hidden place of your heart you are giving glory to yourself? One can easily feel “special” when he hears that he has been chosen by God. I’ll take it for granted that you don't think God chose by lot who will go to hell and who not. I hope not! The idea is absolutely ridiculous, and this god would also be very ridiculous. And a “god” who sends better people than you to hell… would be even a sicker one. The only coherent option has to be the one that makes you (the calvinist) better than the others. And here we finally get to the heart of the matter. But there is a big problem, that “god” who chooses for something he finds in the person, is not the God of the Bible. He is no respecter of persons (Romans 2:11). That is, He does not favor or lean toward some people more than others for any particular reason or affection. That is, for Him, you and all those who are going to end up in hell are exactly the same. Rebels. Sinners. You are not better than anyone. Get this true deep in your head. And repeat it to yourself, over and over again, until you really understand it. Because this is a serious matter. But the Bible says that we have been chosen. Based on what? How can God choose without violating His character and not based on anything in the man? It's easy. He opened the door of Eternal Life to *ALL of his creatures.* And he says *to ALL of us:* Do you want to enter with me? Those who freely answer: “Yes” to that call, those whose answer He already knew before the foundation of the world, are His chosen ones. (Romans 8:29). And certainly this speaks to us of a God of immense love. Love far superior to the human one, who easily makes preferences. Let's be very careful, lest, pretending to give glory to God, we may be found liars. For the heart is wicked and deceitful above all things. (Jeremiah 17:9)
