I've often wondered about the sticker packs on Wish. At first I thought they might be over-runs, and factory seconds, but I don't think so anymore. Even the stickers that were obviously designed for a specific thing stay on sale for years. My current theory is that every time someone orders some custom stickers, the factory just keeps the file and adds it to the rotation.

There's a lot of cheap custom sticker websites, and artists will send off for their art to be made into stickers. These sticker factories are often in China, and some rather unscrupulous sticker-makers help themselves to the design, reprint more and sell them for pennies without the artists' permission in random packs like this. Although, I should add that a lot of stickers in this sticker pack feel like sample stickers - ones that are made to show the print quality. That's why none of them seem particularly like art a street artist or fan merch artist would make, though I'd bet at least some of them are artwork stolen in this fashion. The same thing happens with metal badges/pins people get made, they steal the moulds and sell cheap bootlegs.

@@Andy_with_a_Y unfortunately no; quite often it's down to the manufacturing end going behind the website's back (and said websites may use multiple manufacturers). Good sticker/pin websites do check and investigate for this kind of thing but it can even be down to individual employees of the factory just lifting stuff as and when they feel like it. basically you just have to check on the "about" page if they mention using reputable manufacturers and read user reviews to get the full picture.

Usually they were employed to make the official ones and once a week sell the excess. Then other people sell them online by dividing them into smaller bags for wish and amazon. There's a cool documentary about it on KZbin. It's grey market rather than actual black market.

Actually - this is based on a real device that uses microblowers to increase the pressure of the air you breathe in - called the AIRING - the real ones have tiny batteries and are not rechargeable - and most importantly the Indigogo campaign of 5 years ago NEVER even made a working prototype. They are still collecting money from hopeful CPAP users but it’ll never make anything as good as the product Ashens made. Luckily I didn’t back it!
