The movie's not just inconsistent with the rules, but it also changes the fact the first movie went more with the Islamic Interpretation of Djinn (Angels being made of light, Humans of Dust, and the Djinn by fire by The Capital G God) to going with Zoroastrianism instead. Of course Djinn are apart of both religions, but it's weird how to does a flip like that.

See this is why you need to be aware of other religions; cross ain't doing shit to a Zoroastrian creature. I recall a vampire film in which a Jewish vampire had a similar no sell reaction to a cross. That said I'm giving this film no points for theology; I'm not Christian, I'm not even from a Christian family and even I know that pretty much every major denomination of Christianity holds that there is no sin that Jesus won't forgive, including murder, so that plot point makes no damn sense. Also I'm not aware of any religions where a combination of pastel colours and self mutilation are required to be holy so I'm not sure where that came from.

Since the Djinn is tied to its human master and the master is functionally indestructible and possibly immortal so long as that connection exists, I know the perfect wish to both prevent the Djinn from ever getting its way and making the master live until the ending of time and space itself, while also taking full advantage of the "can't destroy the eternal" loop hole. This was a disappointing sequel with only the original Djinn actor (and Morgana's boobs) saving it from being on the same level as the third and fourth movies. What I really hated about this was the personality change in the Djinn. In the first movie, he's very suave and charming. In this one, he's always got that stupid cheesy grin on his face, and he's lost all charm he did have. I don't know why or how this happened, but it was a huge turn-off. Character consistency is important to me.
