@@wistlfamilyadventures One advice if you want try our delicacies and really enjoy out native food.. always remember we eat food in combination of rice.. except foods eaten with bread like burgers and sandwiches. Mostly filipino meals mainly have 2 components.. First is the Rice component paired with the second component locally called "ulam" (characterized as red meat, chicken, fish) prepared with condiments and spices example adobo, sisig, tapa, fried chicken..Dont eat our delicacies with "Ulam" alone.. because we filipino tend to over spice the ulam so if you eat it with rice it will compliment it's umami taste.. I know back in europe.. A meal means steak or well known fish only .. but here a whole stake is also paired with rice to be called a meal.. even noodle meals we paired it with rice even with soup meals also.. to us the're no appetizers all food are considered the main course when paired with rice..

@@jansantos9442 Yes we have realised that rice is an integral part of the Filipino cuisine here! Back in the UK rice isn’t eaten often at all, unless with Chinese food, or Indian. In the UK our ‘rice’ is actually potato - so we would eat our main meats either chicken, beef etc with potatoes - even fish comes with chips in the UK! So we have learnt very quickly that here it’s rice, and we are excited to learn more about the food here. Thank you for teaching us more about your wonderful culture 🙏😊

Tapsilog = beef tapa (marinated fried beef) + sinangag (fried rice) + itlog (fried egg). You can order various kinds of Silog meals (rice + egg). Longganisa sweet sausages, ham slices, burger patties, hotdogs, pork tocino (sweetened marinade), danggit (dried rabbitfish), bangus (fried milkfish). Ask the locals for the names and pronunciation (slowly). Sometimes it has atchara (sweetened pickled unripe papaya).

When you eat the mall of the Philippines like SM and Other mall the food is very expensive than the restaurant outside the mall. Like in the road side restaurant or we called in Pilipino turo2x stall.

always enjoy guys! extra careful in crowded areas.. and for food if its your first time eating it just ask resto staff/vendor how to eat it or how they usually do.. and food thats needs sauces just ask them how to make the sauce they will gladly help/guide you.. for grab car theres options like grab taxi/4 seater and 6seater..

Yes in Manila we’ve only used grab - we never have a problem for a family of 5, so it’s been really easy seeing the city so far. Ha, you’ll see in a future video that we try Balut, and definitely had to ask for help on how to eat! The people here have been so kind and helpful and we’ve never felt embarrassed to ask, thank you for your advice! 😊

Your kids are so cute and very well-mannered... Glad GRAB is working well with you. Coz i've heard complaints about it from another vlogger about how hard it was for them to book a ride. Just want to suggest also where to get the best Pan de Sal. If you chance upon a PAN DE MANILA store (they have many branches scattered throughout the metro), theirs is really good. And their other products are great too. Really quality baked goods and spreads. FRENCH BAKER is good too. Yes, it's also Filipino-owned despite the name. It's found mostly inside malls. :)

We’ve seen French baker about so we will have to give them a go! Yeh Grab has always been fine for us even when we were out in Parañaque, we only had 1 cancel on us and the longest we’ve waited is around 20 mins. Great service we always use them 😊🙏

I am from the province and during my first time in Mall of Asia, I was with other exchange students from all other parts of the Philippines. So it's all our first time and the mall is really massive and I remember one of us got separated and got lost in the mall. S we like called her and texted and when we asked her where she was, she was crying while she answered saying she's near the water. And we're like, what water?..coz there are tons of sight in and out of the mall where there is water..lol..anyway, we found her after more detailed talking..jajaja..😅 . . P.S. Have fun in the Philippines! Watch out for pickpockets in crowded areas of Manila. Don't carry a purse or wear necklaces if you don't have to. You'll like Makati and BGC. Lots of great food options, but keep in mind that prices will be a tad higher in those areas.

Thank you! Luckily I don’t wear any jewellery and don’t own a purse! So no issues so far ☺️ but we know it’s not uncommon. Thank you we can’t wait to explore more of the country! 🙏

@@wistlfamilyadventures You're welcome. Since you've been to Chowking and Jollibee, you might as well try Mang Inasal, owned by the same company. Very cheap but tasty filipino food - known for their lean grilled chicken. Limited menu. The halo halo there is very good too, and cheap!! My favorite. "Razon's of Guagua" has won MANY halo halo taste tests if you want to try something different. My wife and daughter prefer their halo halo over Mang Inasal's. If you want to try a full menu Filipino restaurant, look for "Manam Comfort Filipino" if you happen to be nearby. Gerry's Grill is good too! Enjoy!
