At the end of episode 1, Rio told Agatha that she did have a heart that's black and that it beats for her. Clearly, the Black heart was supposed to be her, but Agatha didn't want her anywhere nearby. She came up with the clever idea of getting Sharon Davis because in WandaVision, she knew her as Mrs Hart, and she thought she could get away with it because of that play on words. As far as we know, she is not a witch.

Couple things you should know going forward: -At the end of WandaVision Wanda became The Scarlet Witch - After defeating Agatha, Wanda abssorved all of her magic (just like Agatha was trying to do with her) leaving her powerless. She also put Agatha under a spell as the noisy neighbor, the part she was playing in Wanda's sitcom reality as a punishment. During the spell she had no memory of her past and believe she actually her character Agnes from WandaVision. This time in a True Crime style show. - This show (Agatha All Allong) happens 3 years after the end of WandaVision. Agatha was under the spell this entire time. - The people of Westview are still traumatized after being trapped in Wanda's spell. During that time, unknown to wanda, they were I pain because they shared her nightmares and her grief. This is why most people avoid saying her name. - At the end of WandaVision Wanda stole the Darkhold from Agatha. Since the book contains a entire chapter dedicated to her, The Scarlet Witch. It was the only place where she could learn more about her powers who she had recently discovered to be magical. The Darkhold is the 'Book of the Danm' and it corrupts everything and everyone that it touches or read form it. Sadly it corrupted Wanda making her a villain in the movie 'Dr.Strange: Multiverse of Madness'. - Ms.Hart's real name is Sharon Davis. That was her name in Wanda's sitcom reality. She's not a witch and neither the black heart in the list. The black heart refers to Rio Vidal (Aubrey Plaza), the Witch who attacked Agatha, and her ex girlfriend. - The Teen (Joe Locke) is under a Sigil, a spells that prevents anyone fo knowing his identity. To keep him hidden from Witches and magical beings. He doesn't know he's under a Sigil **********SPOILERS FOR DOCTOR STRANGE 2 ********************* She was trying to Scape to another universe were her children were alive and she killed A LOT of people for it in the most badass way possible. By the end of the movie she sacrifice herself to destroy all of the copies of the Darkhold in the Multiverse. So she "died" in the end of the movie (not actually confirmed). The body and the scene on the library on the first episode were a reference to that.

from what I gathered, "witchcraft" is something that everyone can do (in the MCU), its just that for some the spark is so faint that you don't realize it. You'll be a fantastic gardener or baker or something and that's because your witchcraft is affecting that, but there are others who have a greater spark and through learning can cast actual spells. I think Mrs Hart, being a great gardener, is in the first category but is not a practicing witch.

At the end of WandaVision, Wanda cast a spell on Agatha making her believe she is the nosy neighbor she pretended to be. She’s been living that way for 3 years until Wanda died (sorry for the spoiler for Doctor Strange 2). At that point, the spell changed the show Agatha was experiencing into a murder mystery. The first half of the first episode was all in her head with the neighbors humoring her. I’m guessing she was bursting into Dottie’s house when she went to the library - same with when she was working. It’s likely why the “chief” kept turning the lights off on her and trying to send her home. Rio and the teen helped break the spell. I have a feeling we will learn more about the lengths they went to by the end of the first season. Both are much more than they seem.

Blackheart has 3 meanings it could br 1. In WandaVision, episode 1, the calendar has a black heart on it (its a black and white episode) that is for the dinner w/ Mr and Mrs Hart 2. The son of Mephisto is Blackheart 3. Its a reference to the fact Rio and Agatha were a thing. I think the Mrs Hart is red herring, her name isn't Mrs Hart, that was Wanda's name for her.

I don’t know if you caught on but basically everything in the episode has been taking place within and just outside Agatha’s house. The caution tape she crossed was actually that bush that her neighbor was trimming, just like her car was actually a set up with some tripods and other things, and her keys were scissors (which is a witchy joke bc scissors are used for cutting cords and used for protection).

Joe's character "Teen", actually sings along with the coven, separately and quietly, but he does chant with them. That's why he sings in the live performance, same goes for Debra Jo and Aubrey Plaza, their characters don't sing much, so they just vibe on the stage. Rio actually sings the Lorna Wu version, which has different lyrics, so there wouldn't be point for her to sing the "Sacred Chant" version (the Witches' Road opener) aside of the chorus part.

I mean some of this is spoilery to WandaVision and Multiverse of Madness... but it's spoiled by the show anyway? SO.... Yeah, Agatha is a direct sequel to WandaVision. Remember Wanda stripped Agatha of her power and left her trapped in a spell as the Nosey Neighbor as a punishment. Rio (Aubrey Plaza) talking about that witch being dead is a reference to Multiverse of Madness. When Wanda dies in Multiverse of Madness, the spell on Agatha from WV starts to distort. In the movie, Wanda pulls down Mt Wundagore (in Agatha's spell that's represented as the author on the library card, Wundagore = Andrew Ugo) on top of herself to destroy it. It kills Wanda and destroys the source of the Darkhold which in turns destroys every copy of the Darkhold that exists (which is why that section of the library is destroyed in the spell). When Agatha is pulling herself out of the spell, she is reverting backwards thru all the outfits from the different tv eras in WandaVision (the "Naughty" on the butt outfit was only in the intro credits for the 90s/Malcom in the Middle style episode). And no, Mrs. Hart is the wrong black heart. I think that's the point. Rio already told us in ep 1 her heart is black and it beats for Agatha. I think that's the clue. And Sharon is like... Mrs. Hart isn't my name, that's what Wanda branded me. My name is Sharon Davis.... She's a fake black heart bc Agatha didn't want to bring Rio.

That's called "Ballad of the Witches' Road (Lorna Wu version)" and it has changed lyrics from the "Sacred Chant" version, that they used in ep. 2 to open the road. Like it is kinda the same song, but Lorna changed it into a protection spell for her daughter. She tried to use her audience as her coven to open the road, but it never worked. I guess because she changed it. It's like when you change the key, it won't fit the lock anymore. Anyway, it's a banger nontheless.

You should really watch Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a rewatch of Wandavision or watching a recap video on youtube would help too. But to briefly explain what happened (spoilers, but not really bc this already spoiled some stuff lol) Wanda killed herself (allegedly..) and destroyed every copy of the Dark Hold. Her death meant that the hex she placed on Agatha at the end of Wandavision started to go off the rails and become weaker, which allowed “Teen” (who is theorized to be the reincarnation of Wanda’s son Billy, bc he also reincarnated in the comics) to break her free from the hex.

I posted a video on my channel about the Sacred Chant version of The Ballad of the Witches' Road, and how their voices sound like bells during the climax - I think this is the key to the magic, not the song itself! I'd love to hear what you think about my ideas. :) Also, Patti LuPone's voice is magical whether she's singing or speaking. She's utterly captivating, and I love the gravitas she brings.

I have another theory. It actually is the song and it doesn't matter, how many witches, or what kind of witches sing it. Agatha could in theory open the road on her own. The other witches are really required for the trials, that await them. as each is tied to an element, or an aspect (like protection). Since opening worked even with Mrs Heart/Sharon Davis, a non-witch, who didn't really contribute in singing at all (except a small portion towards the end), since she didn't know the words and her voice didn't really resonate with the others.

To answer the: "was her memory erased?" question. If you've seen WandaVision. Well her entire personality was erased, not just memory. Wanda literally made her into the same thing, that she was pretending to be all along - the nosy neighbour Agnes. She's not Agatha at this particular moment. She's stuck in a spell as Agnes and this murder mystery is what her psyche created for some reason. The other neighbours from Westview were playing along in her little fantasy world out of fear. The guy is not her pet, she said that, but not everything Agatha ever said, she really meant.
