He's going to need years of therapy to overcome his childhood trauma. As a survivor (myself) of parental neglect and subsequent abuse by predators who took advantage of my vulnerability, it has taken me years to stabilize. My heart goes out to him - he is showing classic signs of PTSD. Chude, please if you are reading this, assure Ifan that it is a sign of strength NOT weakness to seek professional help. If he doesn't deal with his foundation now, his 'success' might be short-lived. I've been there; my successes kept crashing until I stepped aside to revisit my past trauma.

Thank you Chude. This is one of a program that will help both young men and women who were sexually abuse in their tenage age to come out and speak up. Because many of them are living in pains. Myself am one . Was sexually molested by my Uncle and even at 37yrs, I still feel that pain. And I intend to open a radio station in my Country and be the voice for many of those that couldn't speak up for themselves.

In my career life, I have been opportune to work with a lot of young people in the sex work and gay community and I can say categorically that poverty, parental neglect and abuse more often drives young people into being continuously sexually abused. It's a sad reality but unfortunately it will get bigger in our society. What I struggle to understand is the extent of inhumanity, hypocrisy and callousness of adults in our society. Why can't people just help children for the sake of helping?

My own is, that wicked & evil uncle Obi needs to be arrested; that's if he's still alive, hopefully not preying on anyone... I noticed he dodged the question about him, maybe somewhat still protecting him, somewhat expected & understandable. Wow?!.. This is our Nigeria where there are so many creatives yet so many damaged & broken souls but, our society teaches us to get on with it, move on, keep hustling and gain "accolades" without a "safe space" to share and without judgment. Chude, you are truly a gift to this generation and beyond. You gave Ifan his first "therapy session" without him realising. .. Sometimes therapy for our community comes in the form of friends, family, mentors and even strangers. The most important things are being able to share, not bottling it all up and not letting the trauma define us.

heart breaking !!!despite the lack of accuracy in the age he's giving . I mean if the condition back home with his parents was this bad , how then was he at 10 able to afford to buy a cellphone, own a number , that he couldn't use eventually to reach out to the so called marketer who invited him to Lagos??.. ..
@GraceGodsRoyalDiadem2 жыл бұрын
It seems you did not listen to the story correctly. Nigeria moved from the days of phone booths and it was much later everyone could afford phones. He never mentioned that he owned a phone but clearly mentioned that the marketer's phone was switched off. Please try and show more empathy to someone who has come on air to say 'his truths'. I am also a molestation(no sex) survivor and could only speak up about it to family after 14years(2021). The person denied it but my cousin also went through same in the house. I wish I had spoken up earlier as it would have helped saved sibling and mother rivalry/strife now . But there was no evidence and it would just have been brushed off as 'can't your brother-in-law be caring again' especially for a quiet person like me. I am just saying let's be sensitive with our comments. Thank you.

Because of his emotions, Chude wasn't totally in control of the interview. Yes he wanted to hear him out but the guest ended up repeating himself over and over again. He messed up the interview with his frequent emotional outbursts. So many questions begging for answers here. His parents separated and he wasn't able to follow either of them, why? Why did he run away from home? After OPC guys, what happened? How many years did you stay with Bros Obi the Barber? At what point in your life did you meet Chude that gave you a rare opportunity to showcase yourself? Where are your parents now? Etcetera etcetera.

Rather unfortunate, men go through all this and hardly talk about it.
