Thanks so much for your 2013 kitchen series! I'm in the process of combining kitchens and organizing. I use those bins for a lot of things and a tip I learned to straighten out the handles... Use your hair flat iron on a low setting! All of the bins come with wrinkled handles and used to drive me crazy! Thanks again for all the great ideas!

Super job, Jen, but I swear by my Tupperware for ensuring that dry goods like flour, sugar, corn meal, cereals, grains etc are safe from creepy crawlies. I'm fastidiously clean, but I've had larder beetles in my last apartment that no amount of extermination treatments seemed to get rid of. I'm in a house now (a new build) and this past summer, I discovered that field mice had come in and had been under the kitchen sink. I keep everything in Tupperware (or other sealed containers) and feel so much more confident that my dry goods are more resistant to unwanted "guests". Really enjoy all your videos. Thank you for your sharing!
@cassiefisher423610 жыл бұрын
***** Great idea about freezing the flour to start with. It's so easy to unwittingly bring unwanted "guests" into your home through dry goods. Thanks!! I also have a Food Saver vacuum machine that I will try out with glass containers now.

I purchased a couple of those shelf risers for my kitchen cabinet (one for spices and the other for cans) and what a big difference it has made! Like you, I was able to sort out items that had expired and now I have a much better view of what I have and I won't be letting food go to waste in the future.

Jen, Thank you for taking the time out of your life to make this video for us, it has totally inspired me to go clean the book shelf that I had to use for food storage as I don't have a pantry, and only 3 cabinets in the Kitchen for food, that left 1 for my bowls and on the bottom ( Bowls up top ) and the lower shelf is my pans and baking stuff cookie sheets, pizza pans etc. then 2 cabinets up top, which I have glasses/ cups in 1 my plates etc in the other. So you see I HAVE NO CABINETS at all, anyways I'm getting off here and going to work on my food shelf ! Thanks again!!!

Great video. I have some similar tools in my pantry but we have a lot more food due to having a lot of people in the house. Some additional tools I use that come in quite handy are 1/2-gallon size canning jars for dry goods like pasta, rice, oatmeal, cookies, etc. They're air-proof when closed, inexpensive to buy, you can see through them to see what's in them...but I've also tied labels around them so I know exactly what's in them. It keeps all of your dry goods highly visible so you know when you need to restock.

Lovely video, as usual. I don't see the reason for people to hate on her. Is there really something that she's done horribly wrong? She's an adult and can drink or eat whatever she wishes - and that has nothing to do with you. I know a lot of people wanted/requested this video, so that's why she filmed and posted it. If you really hate her so much that you wish to ruin everybody's day with a mean comment, then why not skip this video or unsubscribe altogether? The title pretty much says everything you need to know about what's going on here...

They are coming out tonight! I can't wait to see how my pantry looks. What the heck, I'm probably going to use the risers for alcohol!!!!

Jen you could use some double sided tape at the top of your over the door rack to stop it sliding over. I like to write the date I buy my canned goods on the can, as they aren't always marked with use by dates, so at least I know when I've bought something and how long it has been hiding in my cupboard when it comes to clean out time.
