Another great unboxing video. I agree with you about how collecting gives one a zest for life. I think collecting anything, not just militaria, gives one an excitement in life, always on the hunt to find interesting pieces of history.

Thx for showing us the fantastic daggers and the picture of E.B . But I have to say - the filming is all over the place - get him some real training in filming . I think the camera guy is so impressed with the daggers and other items - he forgets he’s actually filming .. all of the items you try to show us , just deserves prof filming mr Wittmann . Love you’r DTC 😊😊

Translation on SA dagger: For performance SA Group Thuringia. Competition 1938. I believe a Wettkampfe was a multi event sport’s competition. Love that picture of EB! 👸
@brittakriep2938 Жыл бұрын
Wettkampf is simply german word for competition.
@johnlawson2984 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree, but I recently read somewhere that the actual competition event was a multi sport competition, such as track & field, shotput, etc.
@brittakriep2938 Жыл бұрын
@@johnlawson2984 : Wettkampf means only competition. So in case of Sport, a mix of different kinds of Sport is also a Wettkampf.

I had seen the BEGA-HISTORY IN MOTION channel’s video of Fritz Darges’ interview before this unboxing. Thanks for the added historical layer and context! As a new subscriber, Mr. Wittmann is a whiskey-and-coke drinker, right? It cant’t be rum. I’m dying to know.

So sorry sir, The Katana is a Chinese fake. None were ever numbered like this. Nco swords were made with aluminum handles crafted to look like the officer's swords. There are also other tells on this sword.
@stuartjames1200 Жыл бұрын
Japanese NCO swords were numbered, but on the blade itself and scabbard throat, and not on the brass collar. That sword is in officer mounts. NCO swords has painted grips. Not sure why an officer sword would have been numbered.

It's very frustrating when you guys show tunics because you pretty much ignore the shoulder boards. The boards tell so much; waffen farbe, numbers, and letters.

I’ve repeatedly asked Tom to slow down his presentation speed but he doesn’t listen. It’s time for more… drastic measures.

Hi Tom, the Gunto at the start is unfortunately a chinese fake. Shin Gunto will not have numbers stamped into the blade or Habaki.
