The ending was well to put. You can definitely tell that they were finding and chasing the humor when they made this one. Cuz it starts where the song is entirely new to the Grinch, or at least that's how he makes it seem, and then suddenly he knows its like a new version of a beloved classic. I love stuff like that, no need to hide how the funny is made, in fact that's often where the best humor lies. Sometimes bloopers where the actors are improv-ing through a scene to great comedies can be even funnier than the actual version that airs, I feel Always Sunny really nails this with their bloopers.

A lot of the people who'd put you down did so because they feel like shit about themselves and can only elevate their own sense of self-worth by comparing themselves favorably to others. "I may be shit, but at least I'm not that guy." It's a lot easier to do that than actually go on any kind of journey of self improvement. When you grew out of those habits, they didn't like that. They didn't like that you managed to take the time to work on yourself because they can't use that excuse anymore. So they remind you of your old habits, your old attitudes, because they want you to fall back into them so they can start comparing themselves to you. They're jealous of your strength and growth.
