Oh no I'm sorry to hear this. He truly felt like home. Every time we went down to visit Fort Morgan it was not official until we saw him giving us the news. Have to let my mom know, we all loved him.

It was both shocking and sad news. We miss Mr. Showers not reporting any longer, but more importantly, we miss his kind, gentle heart. He spoke with dignity and no biases in his reporting. I met him in person for an interview at BellSouth Cellular. I appreciated his intelligence, learned approach to the subject matter - cellular telecommunications. Also, I appreciated that he served our country with dignity. God bless you with peace eternal, Mel Showers. You were like God's angel and communicator on Earth.
