If you want a legit answer then the reason was that the sniper was already positioned in on one target and didn't have a view of the door however once Zach came closer and drew the attention of the sniper it caused him to reposition from which he had an angle on the door allowing him/her a view of the door hench allowing the sniper to reposition once more to kill the intern.

Oh, by the way, it's not George. It was meant more as an experiment I made by anglicizing my name to see, if people would understand it better internationally. It's Yuri and I like it much more. It's sort of unique in the English speaking world and the foreign pronounciation does carry an aura of a certain mystique with it. The last name might be a greater problem for people to comprehend, because it is Dvořák in it's historical (and my prefered) Czech form. But I've found a solution to that as well by writing it Dvorjacques so that people can understand. But Dušan that's Ex-YU, Russian or American? Or even any of the countries in-between?
