Never would have guessed that Wladimir would be this good of a speaker -- and he's doing it in a language other than his mother tongue. Respect.

Wladimir Klitschko so condifent and classy. Thats the way a man should give a speech!

This speech just proves, no matter from which part of the world we are from, we all have within each of us to be kind to one another. This same thing applies to political preferences, everything we need to be the best versions of ourselves are already inside. Be kind and people will say kind things about you.

Very classy tribute for a great man. Everyone was listening intently and he got a great ovation at the end. My respect for Wladimir increased after watching this.

English not being his first language sir...you need to rethink what you have in your mind about a persons intentions. This is a very intelligent, wonderful human. What a fulness Wladimir brings to our lives around boxing and beyond. JeffD

I actually think its the perfect forum to talk about something this. A funeral is a celebration of life, one doesn't need to be down in the dumps.
@sinusbradycardia11 жыл бұрын
Great speech. Wladmir doesn't wear his emotions on his sleeve and he as articulate and smart a boxer I have ever scene. This is a funeral and Wlad was probably hurting, but he did his best to hide his hurt. Manny himself said that he has never had a relationship with a fighter such as the one with Manny. Maybe a funeral isn't the best forum to raise awareness about cancer, which Wlad's father is dying from, but let the man speak and allow him to be expressive as he would in his own culture.

Manny was a true teacher...if you go back and watch Lennox Lewis and wladimir from their first fights to their last fights under Manny the improvement is huge and obvious....the man knew how to train tall heavyweights...infact he was a master at it....I also loved Manny's hbo commentary and his thoughts on boxing in general...r.i.p master trainer Manny steward

What a great way to comfort and encourage the grieving through a time of loss. Emanuel had courage and guts but left too soon through the imbalance of stomach flora....Take care of your teeth and your tummy...More important learn from the great men.

I had a lot of admiration for Emanuel Steward when he used to run the kronk gym. What stood out the most was his ability to exploit the weaknesses of his fighters' opponents. Emanuel was playing chess when most were playing checkers.

People generally always have varying degrees of nice things to say about a liked person shortly after their passing. When you don't personally know the individual, it can be difficult to judge the sincerity of things said during a eulogy. But, once an individual has been gone for some time, and you still don't come across people who have significantly negative things to say about the person, it just reinforces the truth in the wonderful things you always read and heard those whom personally knew the individual during their lifetime share with the rest of the world. Maybe some have reasons to dislike the Emmanuel Steward in the world of boxing. What i think to be much more important is that It's hard to find people who legitimately dislike Emmanuel Steward the human being. That is very awesome.

Thank you JeffD. You could tell it was heartfelt. I totally agree with you. The speech was choppy and his timing was awkward, only because English is his 2nd language and we've never seen him in this kind of situation. I just don't understand you haters out there. It was not an easy thing for Klitchko to do and he is judged as being creepy or phony.

Tommy Hearns was a huge talent, and Steward utilized all of it. Hearns's right hand is legendary. You tube his fight against Juan Roldan, and see how Steward worked. Roldan was physically powerful, and even though Hearns knocked him down and hurt him early in the fight, Roldan would recover and was starting to inflict damage. Watch the last round and see how Hearns was using that awesome right hand when Roldan was rushing him. Hearns finally knocked him out. Steward was a mind in boxing

I know. The way you said it sounded like you were being sarcastic in disapproval for Wladimir bringing that up in a time of loss. Take care of your teeth and tummy sounds a little condescending as if you were implying thats what Wladimir was doing through accident or whatever and you were being sarcastic about it.

@Anonymous-xl9pq Жыл бұрын
No he wasn't. You're just another hater of the Klitschko's. Wlad speaks 4 languages. Let's hear the way Lennox speaks German/Russian/Ukrainian.
@Elnont3 ай бұрын
Not only is that a stupid comment about a man speaking in another language but ur also well off the mark. Famously, Klitschko had a special relationship with Manny.
