Tried mine on 3s yesterday. I couldn’t keep it from trying to leave the ground and become a projectile. Only got 2 runs out of it before I broke the front steering hubs and wing lol. I love this little car

206 EVO love this thing. Yeah i think i will avoid 3s on mine. Some people have had luck but most don't. Dropping a sub for sure because i was actually just about to look into those shock covers for this thing. Because no ody else has mentioned them and it seems almkst necessary. So you saved me a possible huge chunk of time. Thanks for that. Edit: i have also been thinking aboit vents very similar to what you have done so clearly our minds drive down the same roads. Nice job thanks

Yeah the shock cap protectors are really necessary for buggys, I flipped once before i installed them and got major wear on the shock cap. I just got some new street tires, gonna do another run later this week with them. They are so much better than the stock.

Great results for cheap money. I didn't even know Gorilla Tape came in clear. It does a great job of toughening up a body on the outside. Using it inside and out is even better. This thing definitely needs to breath better to get rid of heat. Nice mods!
@Spacecadet07304 жыл бұрын
Just a quick tip about the gorilla tape, once you apply it, take a heat gun or hair dryer and run it over everything. It "melts" everything into each contour and really sets it in. The vent holes are making a big difference, I did 6 more up and backs when i turned the camera off without the phone taped to it, and everything stayed relatively cool.
@kodak_jack4 жыл бұрын
Spacecadet The only thing I found was that it’s very tough tape to cut. Around openings, it’s hard to get a precise cut.

Do you know about the ride height adjustment screws? I burnt my stock esc up today on 2s, I put 1/10 Redcat blackout tires on back, and was rock crawling, burnt esc in less than a battery. I raced it for hours last night against a Traxxas summit, and Arrma granite, I smoked them every race like cheap cigars, lol I beat em by 2 laps almost every time, lol I was young with em, now they want 1.Well guess I'm sticking that 60amp esc/4300kv combo in next week. I'm hoping to break 70 mph. Im new here, I posted a video of me flying a little race drone following an X Max doing a speed run right into my legs, Thanks !

Hi Spacekadet. Very good setup and mods :) Can you tell me how much oil you put in each shock? I want to change the oil but I don't know the right amount. The only thing I know is that's not supposed to be filled to the top.
@Spacecadet07304 жыл бұрын
You can fill it up to the line on the inside then put the cap on. test it to see if the piston bounces back when compressed. You want full compression of the piston, and it should slowly extend back out. If you can't compress it fully, its overfilled. If if compresses all the way and doesn't push back out a little on its own, then add a little more oil. Remember when filling to work the piston up and down to get the air bubbles out. Let the shock sit uncovered with oil so the bubbles rise to the top and escapes.
@Motorato614 жыл бұрын
@@Spacecadet0730 thanks a lot. I'll do just like that. Just bought the oil today, tomorrow I'll make the change. Greets from Lisbon, Portugal.

Hey there nice video and 65MPH is awesome! About the rear toe-in, they do that on purpose it improves the car's handling on RWD and 4WD cars. Just like they do a little bit of toe-out on the front end, to reduce understeer and tighten up the turns. But purely for sraight line speed runs, these settings are not really necessary. Cheers!
@Spacecadet07304 жыл бұрын
Yeah I've learnt a lot since this video. I keep some toe out upfront for speed runs and some toe in for bashing in the rear. Thanks for stopping by!

Choose a 3930 kv motor and an 60 amp esc and theoritically you can reach these speeds with 2s and 3s lipo batteries. But rember the highest the kv the less power, but you get higher top speed every time the kv numper gets bigger. High kv motors are not made for bashings , full throttles, jumps, hard braking and repeat, because the esc and motor overheating fast and wear them fast with this driving. I mean are very underpower motors, still you can bash them , but not for very often. Also if the esc has overheating protection (almost all of them have) it will cut the power automaticly, and then you must stop to cool the parts and start again. The lower the kv the more power you get and is better for bashing, but you get less top speed. Or you can have one motor for speed and one for bashing like mine that is 3300 kv and is good for bashing and good top speed. But even the lower kv motors get's hot in summer and sometimes cut the power depends of the temperatures. Imagine that the chinese have made a 2600 kv and 2300 kv motor (Bangood) for 1/10 models and these motors have very much power, but the top speed will be very low. But for make serious amount of dust, throw rocks because of the power, burn ruber , make wheelies and generally hard driving, jumps and all of that, are the best motors.

panayiotis konstantos hi what esc are you running on your wltoys 144001
@but5314 жыл бұрын
@@manny5122 I use 60 amp esc and 3300 kv with 2s and 3s lipos. 60 amp esc can handle 3s , 45 amp esc can handele 2s, 80 amp esc can handle 4s. 120 amp esc can handle easy 4s, but some stores like banggood sell 120 amp esc that can handle 6s but it's to much because esc works in it's limits, but other serious brands sell 150 amp esc for 6s. At least these chinese esc we all use are cheap if they brake and you can buy them again much easier compare to an 150 amp esc that will cost around 150 dollars.
