Wow, I grew up watching WLVI. I remember watching this waiting for Saturday morning cartoons. It was probably the late 1970's or early 1980's. Very nostalgic.

I used to get up very early just to watch the 'sign on' I am not sure if I knew it was the U.S anthem or not, but I know I loved the theme as well as the scenery.

This test pattern had to have been first put into service in 1974 - the year the WLVI call letters were first used, and the same year as the WLS-TV 'Sears Tower' test pattern (with the same color design) first premiered in Chicago.

It is Linda Ronstadt. It's from the singer standards album she made in 1983. The song title is "What's New?"

WLVI had music when this pattern aired. I.remember hearing Moments To Remember, What's New, Good Day's Sunshine, Hooked On Classics, and How High The Moon. Those songs sounded better on this than WSBK's which used only tone.

The original capturing options are 720x480 and 620x480 only and, based on YT requirements I began using a year ago, the closest I could reduce to, 4:3 aspect or not, is about 522x353. However adjusted, they turn out the same, after, YT converts them. I'll try out your ratios with the next group to see if they might change anything.

Tried 480x360 and 320x240 to render finished clips and got black space top and bottom on both on them. At least when I use the 522x353 I have a full-field image before I send it out. YT's conversion then adds the black top/bot after..

Also, I remember reading somewhere that within Ch. 56's 1966-74 run as Kaiser/Boston Globe co-owned WKBG-TV, the station used the "Indian head" test pattern prior to sign-on. Can anyone vouch whether this was true or not?

I've tested different ratio settings but they always transfer to KZbin this way. Probably has to do with my editing program. Once in a while I see others with the same ocurrence.

I've seen this same "squashed" aspect ratio in high-quality mode on your videos here, while on others' (such as 'robatsea2008's' and 'eyeontv's'), the aspect ratio appears "squashed" in normal mode, but is okay in high-quality mode. Ever tried 480 x 360 or 320 x 240 when preparing clips for upload?
