I was so impressed by Erica Wheeler’s personality and humanity from the very beginning. She’s the one who was losing her job and yet there she was on draft night leading the cheers for Caitlin Clark. This is almost unheard of in professional sports. Very, very rare. She’s been a great teammate all year and I hope she’s still with the Fever when all the success comes…and it will come!

The Fever are mostly a young team and a high tempo style of play can be an advantage to wear out the more physical and slower teams. But there are moments or games that your team has to play a set offense or a defense that was allowed to set up or match up and you need a few players that can create their own shot. 2 way players are rare in today's game and requires high IQ at a younger age. Team chemistry is important so the game is easier to play as well as sacrificing personal stats to win. The WNBA has a lot of player movement, whether it's for higher salary or a more comfortable fit that uses their abilities or defines their roles so there's no confusion. Personally, I would prefer the WNBA move to cutout all the unnecessary rough stuff and shift back to a college style game. The women aren't playing above the rim like the men, so women can play a different style and still be entertaining and showoff their skills. It gets tiring to see elbows flying, closelines, hands that full facial a player that blows by you to stop them from scoring, hip checks, etc. This isn't MMA or UFC, so clean it up or thus I league will fold, especially if the NBA pulls it's funding of the WNBA.

Carrington gouges Clark's eye. Mabrey and Carrington are seen celebrating this eye gouge. Mabrey mimics the eye gouge on Carrington. social media exposes this celebration. Sun fans say no this was just a Carmello 3 fingers to the dome 3-point celebration for Mabrey making a 3-point shot. Except Carmello 3 fingers to the dome 3-point celebration was on his own head not someone else's eye like Mabrey did to Carrington. Game 2: Once again social media shows Mabrey and Carrington celebrating. Mabrey is seen telling Carrington "POKE ME IN THE EYE" many times. Carrington does the Camello gesture to Mabrey's head. Mabrey has been in the league for 5 years. I have never seen her do the Carmello's 3 fingers to the dome 3-point celebration on herself or in conjunction with someone else. These are all actions to cover up there disgusting behavior and perpetuate a narrative that is a lie. Carmello 3 fingers to the dome 3-point celebration is not a thing in the WNBA.

The Fever are ALL "likeable." It's half the reason so many support them. By now they are all getting along, though I wonder if Smith is unhappy. I wonder if never playing gets to Berger, Wallace, or Saxton, or if others with roles diminished a bit are OK with that. Temi, Dantas, Samuelson seem OK. I worried about Wheeler but she seems happy enough. Clark, Mitchell, Boston, and Hull have been their best starters, though the 4th and 5th on the floor were always the question this year. A longer press conference doesn't necessarily make for a better press conference .. it may even go the other way, where reporters are struggling to come up with something, that's already been beat to death.
