As a black man, these black women are hating on this young woman. She’s marketable and she’s a fantastic talent. They’re mad because she got big endorsement deals and players like Angel Reese didn’t. But the problem I have with all the stuff happening to Clark is where are her teammates? Let the roles be reversed and they would be trying to beat her up. All I see is jealousy, hate, envy.

That's a damn good point. The fact her own teammates haven't fought either physically or verbally against players and former players attacking her is so wrong. WNBA doesn't deserve CC.

I totally agree with what are saying and I am black female shaking my head at these WNBA black women. Most of them I never knew about until CC came along. Now I hoped that her (CC) teammates would have came to her rescue at times and even her coach too. These women need help on how to be professional. It's unbelievable how they think long nails and fake lashes are ok. They look like they are going to a fashion show instead of playing ball. I will be watching next year for CC and the Fever.

To be fair cc is only getting this much attention because she’s white. Just like Reese is getting it because she’s the black rival. Throughout history black dominated movements , companies and organizations have always needed white saviors. It’s not cc fault and I don’t believe she’s racist or even feeds into it. It’s just the way society is built. So a black league that has had players just as good as cc but considerably less paid they are as you say jealous and envious. Case in point Aja Wilson is the best player in the league and has been for years and let’s be real it’s not even close . But she’s made less money and was never offered what cc has been offered. So clearly it’s not only about talent. Let’s be honest nobody was going to watch a black wnba, now that it has talented white faces it appeals to broadcasters and investors. It’s just a fact that people prefer to marry, communicate, and spend within their own race. I don’t believe it’s racist at all. The league needed her because she talented , but most importantly she’s white it’s that simple.

Believe it or not out of all of the new eyes who have never watched that are now watching there is a percentage who have a respect for the game and will be watching. Caitlin Clark is definitely the reason for the most eyes but may not be the reason that a lot of people stay there are plenty of talents here who are just as exciting to watch that were just unknown.

A. The racist filthy media, WNBA and ESPN ladies have had goals from the start. One (1) was to not give Caitlin the MVP Nor The ROTY award and succeeded in one since they had promised Aja the MVP EVEN BEFORE The season started. 2. To have The Fever and Caitlin lose as many games as possible and as was obvious to lose in the playoffs (The Fever WOULD HAVE WON that series but for the WNBA's filthy tactics). 3. Losing the Playoffs meant they knew had the Fever won they may just win the whole thing and they could not allow Caitlin to become maybe the Biggest Athlete the world has ever seen, surely the biggest female ever. 4. As suggested above, the WNBA players have easily damaged Caitlins greatness--she would have been even greater if not for the physical and mental abuse that has been allowed by the WNB (and NBA since they pay the WNBA). Those were their goals. Moving on, (B) nothing was done against RACISM when C Carter shoved Caitlin down and calling her a "White B#$%@#" but the WNBA states they 'wont tolerate hate or racism...'? They have beaten Caitlin Clark up, both physically and mentally and they expect the masses to just go along with it?!!! THAT IS WHY there is much unrest within CC's fans, because the WNBA and the racist media turn a blind eye to the abuse the THE White girl who has actually helped this filthy league rise. If the abuse on Caitlin was not tolerated by the WNBA/Refs, nor by the heads of ESPN, Disney, ABC and others, all things would have very much more peaceful and neutral presently. C. The WNBA players claiming Fever fans are the ones who are too abusive. These uneducated ladies can't read nor can't see nor are reason and logic their forte. The hate towards Caitlin is MUCH greater and has been for a long time which is why Caitlin/Fever fans need to stand up for her and what is right and sound because she wont. D. It is these WNBA players, the ones hating Caitlin and her awesomeness, who have made all of this a Black and White issue while at the same time they indirectly piss on Asians and Latinos for totally ignoring them in just about every branch of entertainment. They cry out racism yet they too dish it out towards every other race, ethnicity and background. REMEMBER, there are many Asians and Latinos who also enjoy Caitlin Clark and want her to play over seas, so are they racist, too, not to mention there are many Blacks who also support Caitlin?

He's stating the obvious about attendance he's adding the better team's average in with the lower team's average there are three teams that average around 10,000 per game a couple that averages around 8 and the rest 6 and under those numbers are up over the previous years Caitlin Clark expedited the process that doesn't say the league was unsuccessful until she got there any business in this day and time seeing 25 to 30% increases year over year is successful you can let the billionaires tell you they're not being profitable that will be on you Donald Trump pays 0 taxes and he's a billionaire so are we gonna say he don't make no money.

I'm glad someone finally said what I've been saying forever about the "laid the foundation" argument. No, y'all didn't. You made the league worse. I was there in the beginning, working for the Houston Comets, '98-'00. Those fans were rabid, loud, and crazy. Each home game was a celebration in H-Town. Sold out, energized. No cap, these games, with those fans at that time, were twice as loud as any Rockets game I ever went to. They were that crazy. THOSE were the times and players who laid a good foundation. And they were everywhere, promotion out the ass. Even I as a dancer, was getting promoted. So anyone who came into the league after 2003, if they say they laid the foundation... no, you made it worse because the Uncut is right, mid 2000's was sleep time of the WNBA. No one was interested anymore. All the way until now. And that's the damn truth.

This is a great assessment. I watched the inaugural season of the WNBA, was a HUGE Houston Comets fan.. After Cynthia Cooper (little MJ) retired I stopped watching. I did continue to watch Pat Summits Tennessee Volunteers though and the ladies college tournament, So I saw Holdslaw, Candace Parker, Taurasi, Griner, Maya Moore, lobo, Della Donne and Dijonai Carrington, but I did not follow them to the WNBA. There was no reason to. Once the NFL offseason hits I just force myself to watch the NBA (blah). However Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark's rivalry is THE ONLY reason I started watching the WNBA again. For years the ladies have been crying about equal this equal that, and NOW that they are receiving the attention they have been crying for they dont' want it. I appreciate what Angel and Caitlin are doing for the WNBA,, i anticipate the WNBA season now.. .I really NEED to see them face off in the playoffs though.

Good breakdown as usual, but I'm surprised that you didn't mention 2 of the most impressive Clark Effect ratings/attendance stats from Clark's rookie season: - The Fever had a higher avearge viewership per game than every NBA team except for the Lakers, Warriors, Celtics, and Knicks. - The Fever had a higher average home atttendance than 5 NBA teams did last season, including the Pacers, who play in the same arena (Gainbridge Fieldhouse) and were a good enough team to make it to the Eastern Conference finals. That's also pretty damn impressive given that Gainbridge is the 8th smallest arena in the NBA and oh yeah, the Fever's a friggin' WNBA team.

She is currently better known for hating CC than anything she did on the court. If a tree falls in the forest, but know one is around to hear, did it make a sound? No one was around to know or care about swoops career. So CC literally is greater. Her losses are superior to all swoops wins, because people are watching. When it comes to the viewership stats I think you severely undersold the explanation. With 1.8 million viewers for the Fever, and the remaining three games totaling 1.3 million, that means two things: First of all, there are still half a million viewers (500,000)!!! left on the table, which is more left on the table than any one of those teams got as a maximum viewership. Secondly, you could stuff in a whole other non-Fever postseason game (even if you gave them the benefit of the maximum viewership that any of the other teams got, because not one of them reached half a million viewers) . . . and there would STILL be viewers left on the table! She completely crushed. The WNBA, which until last year was the equivalent of minor league in baseball in a bad year, is now a legitimate professional league, literally because of one single player. Hubris is a stupid thing. Too bad they're literally unable to keep their egos in check even when it hits their pocketbooks so blatantly and directly: because of Captain Clark/(Clark Kent?), they will get to fly on charter flights instead of commercial, get much better transportation and hotel amenities, endorsements, media coaching, and getting to act in every way like actual professionals. And with additional viewership in the millions, it will translate directly into much higher salaries. They are head-shakingly naive, stupid, and insecure. Why would they piss on that? The lack of intelligence is absolute.
