Ok, it's not Chicago - it's New York, but I figured we'd all like to see this anyway - I just found it. (And we do have some New York visitors here from time to time) Includes:
WNBC-TV News, Sports & Weather summary with Don Pardo voiceover (can't help but smile a little when I hear him reading serious news)
WNBC-TV4 Editorial (Don Pardo voiceover intro) with Joseph Michaels, Editorial Director of WNBC-TV.
PSA for Census '80 - We're Counting For You! with Edward James Olmos.
Drunk Driving Morgue PSA from the Nassau County Police Department
"Get a Second Opinion" PSA from U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare (with actor Cliff Robertson)
WNBC-TV-New York Station ID (Don Pardo voiceover)
Sermonette with Fr. James L. Tahaney of the Brooklyn Diocese
Spaulding for Children of Westfield, New Jersey - Adoption plea - with voiceover by Fred Facey
PSA for Census '80 - We're Counting For You! with Hattie Carthan, Julio Vigoreaux and Charles Wang
New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services PSA
WNBC-TV-New York Station Sign-Off with National Association of Broadcasters Television Code Seal of Good Practice (voiceover by Arthur Gary)
National Anthem
Color Bars and Tone
This aired on local New York TV in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 22nd 1980.

That's Don Pardo who was the voice of "Saturday Night Live". He's real good on WNBC 4 news updates back in 1980.

That was a long time ago. That Kennedy assassination went longer on the news & the whole world tuned into the local news broadcast. New Yorkers was shocked to hear it happened.

Father Tahaney died in 2004. On a more sinister note, last year, he was included on a list of clergy accused of sexual misconduct.

Wow, it seems Edward James Olmos was already involved with NBC long before he did "Miami Vice."

When did editorials become irrelevant? Guess they got replaced by late night talk show monologues.

I laugh in Atlantan when New Yorkers say their public transit system is underfunded. Come take a look at MARTA here in Atlanta and be grateful.

Didn't Mel Brandt handle sign-offs earlier in the 1970's (in the TV 4, "Your Community Minded Station" era), before Arthur Gary (an earlier sign-off of which can be found here): kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5-8fJKhl52plbs And of course, after Mr. Howell came Fred Facey . . .
