What a great video! I always loved Dan Taylor's show....he had a great voice and personality...so cool to finally see him 'in the flesh.' He was so young! How I miss those great old AM stations, coming over the airwaves late in the night. Hope that Dan Taylor is doing well...wherever he is today!

This is when Radio was Radio and not just an Ipod. It was shows like this that got me into a lifetime career as a DJ & radio presenter. Great Stuff !

WNBC in the 80s was a good example of a station that would let their DJs do an actual "show" as opposed to stations whose PDs muzzled the jocks after 9am to just time 'n' temp every 15 min. "Shut up and play records."

In June of '87 I left my hometown area and six years of radio employment there for the Catskills and WVOS Liberty, NY. I recall hearing the Time Machine then and it was more than likely Dan Taylor behind the mic. Hadn't yet fully realized this show was homage to the departed WABC format right down to the "Musicpower" tag line. In the 90s I occasioned to aircheck Dan doing a country oldies show on WYNY. In any case, a peerless professional of the kind I attempted to emulate in my own performance on-air.

Wow, what a jingle-heavy show...quite the contrast from stations that play maybe 2 or 3 an hour.

They reverbed the whole signal. I makes the station sound fuller and bigger when coming out of a traditional 31/2" transistor radio speaker.

This must've been made right after WHN closed up shop. I can never get enough of the reverb, echo chamber, or whatever one calls it. I used to call Dan Taylor when he was at WHN.

Great video...I worked at WNBC but went to TV right before the Pams Jingle thing...but that was a great sound. Just like WABC in the good old days. "Day late...Dollar shy." NBC Radio was always like that...a little behind the curve.

Whenever I hear Time Machine 'checks, I always forget that WNBC had gone combo (where the jocks ran the boards) and picture the jock playing traffic cop getting all those jingles & songs fired at the right time.

Hearing that echo in the processing always takes me back to the days. We actually have a physical echo chamber built into the attic of the CC... er... iHM building, but it's not hooked into anything.

I did not listen to Dan Taylor but my father did, I kinda just decided to watch this and I must say he is a great DJ with a great voice. This is the kind of radio that doesn't exist anymore.. it died in the late 90s early 2000s. Now everything is just so corporate and blah
