His most punishable move is that crazy lightning slashing to his front. It lasts a long time. If you can get behind him during that move, then it's a massive damage window.

I just use a nuwa build and run towards him using haste when he does the lighting spinning like a bulldozer.

Difficulty spikes in second and third DLC are ridiculous.. You breeze through everything and suddenly get your ass kicked for an hour or more😅

Agreed! It's a big step up, but I actually like that difficulty spike. Was kinda similar in Nioh 2. Yuan Shu is the ultimate test, how well you know the game and such. He's powerful, but with enough perseverance, beatable.

Can anyone carry me? i just want to unlock the stratagem i want to have fun, not just fight stupid battles. i least nioh 2 gave you more growth window i was i. Second dlc and i can't beat this guy in the first difficulty

@@nestormendoza1176 Hey. I suggest checking out the Reddit page (subreddit) for Wo Long and posting there. Lots of players willing to help. He's a strong boss, so it's understandable to have problems. Try gaining more distance in the second phase - it'll make a difference. Best of luck!

Thanks for the guide bro. First phrase was very easy to get the hang of, 2nd phrase was frustrating me but I actually did the opposite of what you suggested: I was super aggressive and constantly stayed up close to him, when I did this, I beat him easily Hahah. this boss was a nightmare. Played with a friend and we had to fight him 3 times because the game crashed everytime we somehow managed to kill him. Terrible experience but i liked the boss anyway 😂 we were literally shaking the whole time we fought him because we were scared to lose everything again

Amazing explanation as the combat goes! I had my butt kicked a lot when i first encountered in dlc3 dragon king but it was partly i play too aggressive. But isee the benefit of being a little patient here. Great vid👍

Much obliged! I bet. One needs to spend some time with him first and, after a while, Yuan Shu will be much more manageable. It's definitely hard to fight him while being aggressive - too many spells, statuses and projectiles to handle. Thanks for watching!

Yup, Yuan Shu was hard to pull off, but I wanted to help our fellow players and tried my best :P On a side note, this video has won the Wo Long Fallen Dynasty 2nd anniversary campaign in Europe. Received gifts from Koei Tecmo and couldn't be happier 💛

How are you doing that much damage? I can't arsed doing NG+ (have other games to play) but i do want to beat this guy. I generally get to the second phase just fine but since i can't damage him hard enough i just die eventually. Any recommendations?

Yes - check out my build videos. It's important to set specific perks, if you wanna increase your damage output. Glaive, as a weapon, hits hard, but is slow, in comparison to other weapons. Allocate points into your main (Earth in my case) virtue and get strong accessories to gain even more power. Best of luck!

The hardest boss to perfect in Wo Long - Demonized Yuan Shu. He wields all elements and has many tricky moves at his disposal. Key is to deflect a lot and play very defensively, especially in the second phase. Distance and hunt for his ultra fast Critical Blow. You can do it too! Thanks for watching! Thanks for the video, I'm just looking to beat the boss. I have like 7-8 hours of attempts so far. I keep getting gimped by the icicle attack he does in phase 1, or the spinning fire blade in phase 2. I'm going to be doing more attempts later with what I learned here.

My pleasure. For that Icicle attack, you have to wait a bit and start deflecting - in rapid succession. You can outrun it in the second phase (at long distance), just not in the first phase. Spinning blade you can block fully. Sure thing and I wish you luck!

Thanks for the guide. I just want to beat this boss and finish the DLC and just can't do it. You have a link to armor set and virtue build? I don't mind spamming magic either at this point, but nothing I've tried worked, including imposing slab which worked for a lot of other fights. I know you did your fight without magic but do you know if certain spells work well? I'm only on my first run through game and each DLC. Most guides I've found players are like NG+++ and have magic and armor I can't even get.

Sure thing and thanks for watching it! Yeah, I have 2 "build" video guides in my playlist - they should help. Be sure to equip yourself with the faster dash perk (leg armor), as it really makes a difference in this fight. Newer spells can block his magical attacks (Earth spells to block his Ice projectiles), but the older ones will work too, just be aware he has much magic resistance. I'd recommend Perfect Restoral - it'll let you tank any hit. Lion's Roar to gain 30% damage resistance. Defensive spells and buffs are preferred, not the offensive ones. Go heavy armor, but keep an A in Agility. Sacred Lotus shines in this fight - you'll be resistant to every element and remove any accumulation. Other than that, keep distance in the second phase and focus on deflecting his fast Critical Blow. Do it a few times and he'll lose his Spirit. 2-3 Fatal Strikes will seal the deal. Fingers crossed!

Thank you so much! This helped me beat him just now,I stopped playing for over a week because of this boss lol! Even tai chi didn’t do this to me 😂 The first phase I could do perfectly every time it was just the second that always got me because I didn’t understand it. Still took me a few tries but I think like 6 or 7 and I got it. I think his moveset is fine just his health pool might be a bit out of line. I’ve only beat this game twice tho so I don’t know everything. Great video thank you again!

My pleasure and congrats! That's one mighty opponent. I see. Yeah, even Taishi Ci pales in comparison, in terms of pure difficulty. Yuan Shu is powerful, but the more we fight him, the more we understand his potential. Once we keep distance and play super carefully in the second phase, he won't be as intimidating. Agreed, he shouldn't have so much bulk. On the other hand, he's the very final and ultimate test in Wo Long, so they had to make him special, I guess. May be i wrong but dis all dlc of Wo Long feels just unfair. Bosses attacks non stop with crazy speed and combos. Then jump away and hit you with magic arrow with double damage through all damn arena. And game even dont allow you upgrade your weapon and armor, bcs all gear in game have same stats of damage and armor.

DLC is definitely a big step up in terms of difficulty, you're not wrong. Bosses are much harder in comparison to those in the base game. Stuff can be upgraded, one just needs some time to get everything (farming materials). I believe that key is to keep pushing and focus on deflects.

How do you get the dash speed increase embed? I don't see it in my list at the blacksmith - is it one of the limited quantity jewels? Great guides, by the way - the amount of sheer skill you show in these videos boggles the mind.

I just went to the blacksmith and was able to set it up, premium or not (leg armor). It's one of the best perks, so be sure to equip it! Really makes a difference. My light attack deals like 650 damage and that's at full Spirit (damage is increased). As for my level, I believe I was around 500, maybe a bit lower. Perks matter more, btw, if you wanna hit harder, especially those premium ones.

@@abdel1143 Wood is the very best virtue, in my humble opinion. Focus on that and Earth - full (or nearly full) heavy armor and A in Agility, most possible defense and frames. Highest agility is crucial, as it makes dodging and deflecting easier. For more details, check out my build videos. The first (older) one should help. Best of luck!

He has more HP in coop (same as other bosses in Wo Long), so it's understandable. Keep trying and you'll beat him, eventually. Focus on those Critical Blows, Shock debuff and heavy Spirit attacks. Best of luck!
