Love it when people say Pink Floyd is one of my new favorite groups. Welcome friend.✌🏻😎

Pompeii is known as one of the most accoustic ancient theatres to ever exist. Pink Floyd worked with Rome so that they could take advantage of the acoustics of the amphithetre and decided the best way to do it was to hold a live concert, but don't invite any fans. That way, they could have a studio sounding live album, and they recorded it all on video as well. Live at Pompei (pom pay) was pretty much a 1 of a kind idea by pink floyd to produce a live experience that everyone can experience at home. They were innovative.

You pronounce it Pom pay. No one had performed here in 2,000 years until Pink Floyd did it. Echoes has a part 2. Ghost of the people that died here from volcano in 79 A.D. You could go to the movies and watch this concert. There are more songs.

it's not the Colosseum, that's in Rome, the video was shot in the amphitheater of Pompeii. All Roman cities had an amphitheater like the Colosseum but smaller. the filming was also done in the Phlegraean fields in Pozzuoli near Naples which is a volcano under the city where hundreds of thousands of people live and which the ancient Romans called the devil's house because of the sulfur that comes out of the ground

After you watch Part 1 and 2 of the Pompeii performance of Echoes, be sure to check out the final time Echoes was performed in 2007 or so. Richard Wright, the keyboardist died shortly after that from cancer & David Gilmour, the guitarist has said he will never play it again because it woukdnt be the same without his friend. The final performance is especially incredible because as the two play out the final few minutes of the piece, its as if two old friends are having an unspoken conversation covering a lifetime using only their instruments to speak. Its absolutely beautiful. I'd also recommend checking out two versions of their song Saucerful of Secrets. Listen to the version from the album of the same name, and then the version from Pompeii. The first 2/3 of the song is instrumental, but the vocals from each version give a different vibe from each other. Its hard to choose a favorite.

Voices: David Gilmour (guitar) and Richard Wright (keyboards); Roger Waters in bass and Nick Mason on drums. Location: Pompeii, was an ancient Roman city near modern Naples that was buried by a volcanic eruption in 79 AD, preserving its ruins. Basically, Pink Floyd just went there and checked out the acoustics of the ancient theater and filmed it, made it rock your ears off. 💥

This is the first time on video that this song was played. Advice to the last time was going to be ever played as Rick (keys) death. Dave said he always felt that Rick and himself talk to each other with their instruments. This was the first time anyone perform in the theater since 79 AD and Dave return in 2016 (solo tour ) HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT ****. " In any Tongue:" 5 A.M. with the volcano at the start in the background into "Rattle That Lock" ending with Comfortably" Which has 125 million views on You Tube.

Pink Floyd and Yes's music is already considered the new Mozart Bach and Beethoven of the 20th century by some.
@Wikid_Media3 ай бұрын
I never understood how someone could like music like this and yet still get into listening something that sounds like you're listening to a clock tick like rap? Rap is not even music because they don't use instruments, they use drum machines to press buttons to get repetitive beats and they pull levers on sequencers and sometimes scratch albums with a stylus. It's robotically timed like a mechanical clock and is repetitive and redundant as can be, everything is digital today. And something that is mechanical and robotically timed is not human or natural. Music like this is natural because it's syncopated beats which means it's organized chaos coming from instruments where the timing goes by the beat of the musician but in such a way that it makes sense as long as everything is in key. Music like Pink Floyd's always sounds like a story being told. A collective piece of music that reflects the chemistry of four guys coming from their instruments out through the amplifiers. Rap music can make you stupid if you listen to it too much because repetition is an excellent form of mind control that will give you a short attention span because the beats are too predictable, then since your mind already knows the beats and doesn''t have to cognitively process anymore of the music (but it is not music) then your brain goes into a semi-conscious state which is the equivalent to being hypnotized. And that's exactly what the government (who is supposed to censor what we listen to) likes so the masses can be more easily controlled.😂
