I lived at this apartment a few months before this poor little girl went missing. I always had a sick feeling seeing the children play outside unattended. Im talking groups of children 10yrs old and younger completely unattended. I would go out and walk my dog Honey and just think how are these parents okay with these babies being alone… As a parent to three year old twins I couldn’t imagine leaving them to be attended to by another child… Please let this sweet baby be safe and eventually be reunited with her family.

I live in a part of Canada that’s extremely safe and I still wouldn’t let my kids when they were younger play alone outside…now? Forget it? And Weve never had a child abduction in my current city that we know of I grew up in Toronto in the 70s and 80s during many high profile abductions and Bernardo so that stuck with me and having 3 daughters ….no way they were out of my sight. They are all almost adults now and still must check in with me all the time.Keep those babies close

Perhaps it's normal in their community's in Afghanistan to leave kids unattended? You'd have thought that maybe they would have been warned not to do it in America? When my kids were younger some 20yrs ago here in the UK they would play out from age 8/9 but they would be in a group playing football behind my house but I just don't see kids out playing here these days an we haven't had many child abductions for many years that I can think of in past 8-10yrs. An certainly wouldn't see a 4/5 yr old out alone .

I feel for these parents but I just can’t wrap my head around allowing that here. SA is the 2 most dangerous city for human trafficking in TX. Having situational awareness as a parent is a huge priority regardless of culture in my opinion.

There was a large group of children from toddlers to about maybe age 10 or so I’m assuming the older children were to watch for the younger ones and also the “playground” they played at was a dog park🙃🙃 not an actual playground. People need to learn to not just look after their child at a park, stop being so selfish. 95% of parents I see at parks or other public places where kids are, only watch for their own. They have no care in the world for anyone else… All it takes is for them to stop staring at their phones & while watching their kid at a park, just do a general scan from one side to the other. Be AWARE. And see if anything looks off. It could be maybe a kid getting beat up in the corner by another kid, it could be a kid who just hurt himself badly, maybe you could avoid a kid from sticking a fist full of sand in their mouth. Anything. 🤷🏻‍♀️ be aware. Scan your surroundings !!!!!!

I've done videos on this case. So, while I TOTALLY AGREE...I've learned that in their original country it's pretty common for a child that is alone to have the eyes of everyone around them, on them when there seems to be no parent around. To her mom, leaving her in the park w other kids around other adults that are of the same race/religion/traditions while she took a few moments to run back and get bottled water, was safe. What's more sus is the fact that in the time frame Lina went missing the apartment complex cameras conveniently glitched and didn't record anything.

In the Asian world kids can go to the park without worry that someone would snatch your child. It's a different world. The parents probably didn't realize how dangerous it is to leave your child on a playground is in the US.

Jim, in many countries across Asia (like Afghanistan, where her folks are from) and the Middle East its normal for kids to wander off alone and go out to the park, market, etc alone. Contrary to popular belief those countries dont pose the same threat to kids like the US does. Kids dont just get snatched up off the streets there which is why it’s totally normal for them to be left alone unlike in the US. Her poor parents didnt realize that stranger danger is a real threat in the US unlike in their home country.

Stranger abduction is always, always the hardest cases to crack. Camera footage at the playground Lina and the other kids were playing at by the apts show all the kids (including Lina) go (get lured) into the nearby parking lot (that is not overseen with cameras), and then when the camera footage restarts, all the other kids are back at the playground, all except Lina, as I remember. IMHO, she was kidnapped, driven out of there, and either eventually killed or child trafficked, poor little girl. Surprising that all those other kids and adults that w-e-r-e on the playground didn't kinda watch little Lina and make sure she was not lured away...even tho its not their job, you'd think Afghans at a certain apt complex that are mostly from a certain country would kinda stick together...especially with other kids little Lina probably played with all the time and given her young age. I'm glad they are still keeping her in the news and in the public's eye, and have such a high reward. Poor little girl.

Unfortunately adults never watch other people’s kids. They either are looking down on their phones or just looking at their child. I am one of those that even though I am watching my child, I am always scanning the area to make sure there isn’t a child wandering off alone or something weird happening. Because I couldn’t live with myself knowing a child was abducted right before my eyes & of everyone else’s eyes that are there … My child once fell off a floater at a friends pool when she was about 3 years old. Kid you not, there were about 6 adults in the pool, plus some of my ex husbands friends who were standing outside the pool but almost at the edge of it. And I was fully clothed in jeans, watch, shoes, everything. I kept watching the kids. Like always. Even though I was outside the pool, I jumped in head first & grabbed my daughter out the pool. When I had already grabbed her and was still in the pool with her asking her if she was okay & I was trying to keep a straight face so she wouldn’t panic, about 4 men came up from under water looking for her and just saw me there holding her already. Idk how I reacted that fast, but I did. Not one person in that pool or standing outside the pool was fast enough to notice she had fallen off that floatie. I thank god my mom instincts kicked in. If I see any child hurt in public, my mom instincts usually kick in right away even if I see that there are multiple adults around the child

I live just across the street, one block down from where Lina was kidnapped. The complex shown at 6:06. To this day I think about that baby when I drive past her apartment complex. I truly believe someone has her and took her somewhere overseas, or to Mexico or South America or back to the Middle East. I really hope the child is found. I-10 is also not far at all from the Medical Center so the kidnapper could have gotten away easily and very fast.

PLEASE... PLEASE....PLEASE ... Law enforcement check surrounding apartments!!!!! So so sooooo many times, when the truth comes out on cases 20plus years down the road, its usually someone living close by, in home, in close area, etc! The perpetrator is capable of seeing her on a regular basis (usually), and it's usually someone no one expects. New laws need to be enforced when it comes to missing banies/children. Checking everyone, everything, everywhere,... Public shouldn't never have a problem with it when its a situation of this kind!?!
