What a great story, video. Sunyani looks like a fantastic place maybe a bit overlooked. As a child i was fascinated by its name as it sounds a bit chinese Sun Ya Ni lol. The centre like so many places in Ghana needs more trees and greenery. I think we also need to eschew the plastic bags, go back to leaves, bolga baskets and other biodegradeable or reuseable items to reduce amount of unmanageable waste. I am fascinated by the drink, made with the fruit from borassus palm or palmyra tree (African fan palm). In Nzema we call the tree in the same way as in Twi maalɛ kue (mma kubɛ) which means woman's coconut. It is a beautiful palm tree the fruit has a sweet pungent scent its core hard but the juice from its husk is refreshing and tasty. On the tree itself - just before its fronds the trunk widens & in local folklore they say that is where the tree keeps it worries. Dont be like a mma kubɛ tree

Thank you for this video on Sunyani. You had wonderful guides and I appreciated the recognition and love shown to you by everyone especially the Catholic priest and the photographer/ videographer. We have " dukunu" in Jamaica. If a person should consider living there, How far is Sunyani from Accra?

You could probably fly from Accra to Kumasi (30 mins), and drive from Kumasi to Sunyani. (2 hrs max). To make the journey shorter.

That’s the point…selfless. The reason Wode Maya is great is because he does it from his heart. He’s genuine and we should support him.

Different tribes with different cultures and food so if you don't live among other tribes you can't know much about it. As a Ghanaian myself now living in Asia, there are still some Ghanaian foods that I've not tasted before and there are even some places in Ghana where I've never been to before.
