When kids are full they shouldn’t be forced to eat more. It wrecks their ability to later on know when full and to keep eating. I am at least one bite of everything and then eat what you like best. I was over at my cousins and they would make all the kids eat what was served. My one cousin ended up throwing up before done and then was sat back down to finish the rest of their plate. That mentality has made me struggle to known when my to stop and had a lifetime of weight issues. Parents do the best they can, but sometimes it is years before they see what a choice they made for their child has done to them. I personally do not see bringing children to protests, (that often turn disrespectful and even violent,) or drag shows, (that often have sexual themes,) as being cautious of what is impressed on your child’s psyche. However, I respect your right to your opinion and to do what is legally accepted in our society.

My 3 (almost 4) year old says “mommy I’m sad” if she’s upset. Me being a good mother (she tells me constantly I’m the best mommy in the whole wide world so that’s all that matters to me) is what makes her comfortable enough to express her feelings. Children taught racism, exude racism. I ask my daughter if she wants hugs and kisses or “can I” because YES children do need to know they have the right to say no. Forced affection (when clearly not wanted from the child) is never ok. I never force my child to finish her plate but I also do my best to provide appropriate food proportions for her size/age. I also suffered from an ED as a teen and I don’t want her to have an unhealthy relationship with food like I did. I will NEVER take my child to a protest solely because of the violence that goes with it. I may disagree with much of what she said but she has valid points with others. Also, my daughter knows the proper name for her vagina. God forbid if someone hurt her, I don’t want to risk “my neighbor ate my cookie and it hurt my feelings”. Small things like that can make a difference between knowing when a child is being hurt, and thinking “kids are kids”.
