Most people don't start forming memories at that point, unless trauma is involved. I was slightly younger than 2 years when I smashed my head hard bleeding a lot and requiring stitches. The only thing I remmber is running around tripping then hitting the table leg and the faces of people reacting to me bleeding, nothing else. There is the potential because of the fog of memories from the early years that they are mistakenly identifying an earlier age.

But ive gotta say, i do have memories of me being under 2, very very early on memories, but my memories of that age are literally irrelevant, as those memories are very simplistic memories. Their is no way any of those memories i claim to have had, had ANY cognitive thoughts within them... just emotion, which is probably the most primitive way of communicating, i can think of...!!! I have high functioning autism and I grew up being highly uncomfortable in my body and was your textbook tomboy with traditionally male interests but no one thought twice because i was just a tomboy. Now I’m very comfortable in my body and love being a woman. I needed time to develop like every child does so having someone like this is extremely scary.

Yes, like most autistic young people. Change is very difficult for us cognitively, plus all the sensory aspects and the social norms that come with puberty and also the fact that S.A. is much more prevalent in autistic people of both sexes than the rest of the population and we're not believed when we talk about it and thus don't get trauma treatment. It took me to about 35 y.o. to accept my woman body characteristics, yes it took me a full 20 + years to get used to that new body. And also to fully accept that I am not interested in "woman stuff" and that's ok. It's ok that I don't want to be a mother, that I don't put lipstick, that I wear "manly clothes" and keep my hair 1/2 inch long because of sensory issues. There are all kind of ways to be a woman. And the same for men.

It’s weird that they think there’s “rights” involved with off-label drug uses. While doctors use some drugs commonly off-label (example: albuterol prescribed for cough) they’re really not supposed to and are banking on no negative outcomes. A more common analogy would be us all driving 5 mph over the speed limit in the U.S. and generally it’s never a problem - but technically we can be ticketed for it. Lupron was designed for cancer treatment and has a huge chance of sterilizing the user. Suppressing hormones is not some benign non-compliance with intended usage.

I have no issue if a child demands to be seen and treated as the other gender; BUT only socially (not medically) and only with intense psychiatric care for all in the family. Under no circumstances should kids be given puberty blockers as it’s essentially sterilization and is too closely related to the eugenics movement from 100 years ago. At least doing it only socially, the child gets to ‘try it out’ to see if a phase or true gender dysphoria without any nasty side effects/regret.

The sex discrimination thing is because for example if a male child is prescribed testosterone he’d be allowed to get it while a female child would not. Which completely ignores that if a male child is prescribed testosterone it’s usually because he has a DSD where his body doesn’t produce enough testosterone while a female child is usually producing as much testosterone as her body needs and would be harmed by having excessive testosterone. I’d argue medicine is one of the fields where some sex based discrimination is helpful because men and women react differently to some treatments. Also a gynecologist refusing to treat a trans woman would be sex based discrimination since they would be saying they’re willing to treat females but not males. Sometimes discrimination is a good thing.

I think they’re trying to use sex discrimination because it worked in Obergefell in a very odd way. I’m both gay and believe in gay marriage but the court accepted the argument that it was sex discrimination to tell a woman she couldn’t marry a woman when a man could marry a woman. The problem to me with that argument was that, like here, it applied in the reverse as well to men marrying men. But the Court decided that made sense as sex discrimination. As for people’s willingness to apply untested medical intervention to their healthy children, we learned during the pandemic that many parents have no problem with that!

A free tip to parents: insisting you consent is the best way for the medical providers to cover themselves from legal liability. When the child desists the only person they can sue is the person who authorized the treatment: parents. The docs will argue they were simply providing a service requested. If you feel you have no choice sign the document but document your protest to the recommendation/advice and pressure from the doctors/therapist . I watched the CNN segment and Strangio's arguments seemed to rely heavily upon feelings and less so on hard evidence. They repeatedly used hyperbole to describe the needs of trans kids. I dismissed Strangio's position completely when they mentioned a 2 yo struggling from "years with GD, only to find relief from puberty blockers", a claim that anyone who knows what The Cass Report is would easily dismiss as heresay, as many transitioners continue feeling dysphoric years after transitioning. Chase Strangio's positions are emblematic of trans activism. I would guess that they were chosen to argue the case because they're a trans man. Was Strangio chosen to win the case, or to be the first trans attorney to argue a case before SCOTUS? I heard audio from arguments and Strangio's trans status did not shield them from some hard truths being addressed by the justices. The oral arguments gradually degraded into frivolity as the justices rejected claim after claim made by Strangio, who didn't appear to anticipate SCOTUS flat out rejecting their claims. If I were one of the plantiffs, I'd be left entirely disappointed in the arguments made by ACLU to SCOTUS. Strangio's arguments seemed an extension of the ridiculous comments they made on CNN. Instead of being accepted w/o question as they were on CNN, they were countered by SCOTUS and Strangio couldn't provide evidence to support their claims. Lastly, I feel genuine empathy for those who suffer GD. While I could never comprehend living in the body of the opposite gender, I believe it could be torturous for those who suffer from GD. Even so, it seems as if the needs & wants of trans Americans has been hijacked by activists who don't have the best interests of American trans folk & GD sufferers in mind. It seems that at least some trans activists wish only to provoke and inflame disagreements that exist among the majority of Americans and the tiny minority of GD sufferers. These activists selfishly claim to speak for all trans folks, which has led to misconceptions among Americans about what it means to be a trans American in 2024.

I have a 1.5 year old now i was amazed when she started counting to 10! I mentioned it to my pediatrician and she said- yeah she cant really count yet though. She is just repeating what you are saying. They cant really grasp the concept of counting yet- most of their words are just mimicking what we say. Also it isnt until 2 years old that most kids can even put 2 words together! So my question is- how often are you telling your kid your trans for them to repeat that back to you?

Parents who think "kids know!" maybe have got a romantic idea of a thing they don't remember about their own past. Maybe kids can be aware of something, as kids are not meant to be total dummies. But how in the world they know their own identity? I remember I was an unbalanced child: I had lot of funny and complexes theories about the world and I was still at the kindergarten; at the same time there were lots of things I did not get and I hardly understood. I needed a guide. And who's the very thing? I also remember that if some adult told me that some day on I was not a girl anymore but a boy, I would never say anything, as I did not know what I was and, above all, what really meant to be male or female. I saw male and female and their differences, but if a parent or any adult authority told me otherwise, I trusted them. To me, such transformation could be possible as it was possible that Santa made appear my favorite toys under the Christmas Tree. How I was supposed to know better a complex theme as the transition? Adults knew, adults are meant to know, not kids. And if kids are seen as consenting and aware people, maybe parents feel that can they can work less on their own child. It's easier to say YES! to anything a kid says than teach him or her something difficult.

Buck, I have been using my voice more and more after recent events and months of watching your videos. The amount of people on Instagram that think children's lives are now in danger because the UK banned any medical transitions or hormones for under 18s. It's lunacy, there are people throwing insults at me and no actual critical thoughts or arguments. I`m in the UK..tell them England`s NHS (not the whole UK) is changing gender affirming care for minors...no puberty blockers, hormones or social transitioning just holistic therapy until 18, when they can decide to go further themselves if they wish...and pay for it themselves. The puberty blocker issue will be reviewed in 2027.

I hate the way that they answer everything with an upward inflection towards the end of every statement/sentence.
