Akinwande Oluwole "Wole" Soyinka is a Nigerian playwright and poet. He was awarded the 1986 Nobel Prize in Literature, the first African to be so honored.
BOKO HARAM is indeed a “homegrown” religious affliction - insofar as any social eruption, anywhere in today’s world, can be considered an insular development. Nor is Boko Haram a purely religious phenomenon. What has become familiar as a toxic brew of religious and politics in pursuit of power for its own sake has catapulted the Nigerian instance into a solution defying menace that threatens the fabric not just of Nigeria, but of both surrounding and distanced African nations. Many like to subsume its beginnings and expansion under social alienation, economic deprivation, governmental corruption. As always, there is some truth in that. The Nigerian instance was however largely born of impunity, the art of - literally - “getting away with murder”.
This Distinguished Lecture is sponsored by the Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in America, the Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice, the Cogut Center for Humanities, the Department of Africana Studies, the Department of Anthroplogy, the Department of English, Glenn Loury (Economics), Modern Culture and Media, the Office of the Dean of the Faculty, the Office of Global Engagement, the Office of the President, and the Watson Institute for International Studies.

Wale Soyinka's poems allured me to taking Literature in English, even when I was a core Science student. I just read the subject for the interest, however, fate created the room that enabled me to write the Literature exam which I also passed. Thanks to our own 'WS'.

Wole is the most conscientious elite in Nigeria. He’s always put his thoughts forward without colorations or biases. These are men that should have been president in times now past. We don’t need anyone from the current crop of political leadership to ever represent Nigeria or be responsible for its future.

Hearing all these manifestations of impunity, no one with sane mind will be comfortable to be in same country with such people who do not respect the secularity of a country and never held accountable for such impunity. So all should be conscious of this speech and act accordingl.. An amazing reaearch paper for prosperity.

Few things that make Professor Wole Soyinka unique are 1. He is above eighty years yet still strong. 2. He spends over seven years without drinking water. 3. He has no mobile phone and he is OK with it. 4. His activism has validated his voice as a critic of society. 5. Aside the Military governments, all democratic governments in Nigeria have high respect for him.

With all due respect to our Noble Professor, Wole Shoyinka, none can fault the articulation or the Intellectual materials parked in this lecture. If all these are true of Boko Haram impurities and by extension to Muslims practitioners culture . Prof. Today's situation in Nigeria, 2021, gives you and others likeminded individuals or groups the opportunity to severe relations with the Canals of the North and speak for the Yorubas and narrates their suffering under this oppressive regime . But instead you argue for RESTRUCTURING and continue association with Nigeria, One Nation EXPIRED NATION. Wish You Long Life

This message is for the various Igbo and Yoruba groups in the Diaspora, it seems like we are in a better position to help those back home. Ibadan Descendants Union, Eze Ndigbo, etc., USA, UK, France, etc., need to join forces and take Britain to the International Court of Justice, Hague. They must admit what they did to our people and also be part of the Solution ("Great Solution" especially to quell any agitation from the North). We are not asking for reparations (even though we could as well ask for damages to cover the big loans and indebtedness of the current country). Then "We The People" can truly decide our own destiny. The Southern people have the right to determine their self-government and the right to a more stable union.

His friend Olufemi Sowemimo was thrown downstairs from a seven-story building and that gave birth to THE MAN DIED. Till death, he remained Ikemba's best friend. Please go and read the Man Died. Some times the Nigerian public trusted their politicians trust that they don't have for themselves. They are giving the impunity to cheat and no one make them to account for it. They are free to do what ever they please, and get away with it. Apostle R.A.

@@olusolaladimeji5165 What do you term a situation where government takes arm against her own people? It was a clear case of genocide and attempted extermination of a race. If the Ibos had not been resilient and creative they would have been wiped out merely on allegations of been responsible for the 66 coup. You don't classify a people who defended themselves against national genocide as rebels. A coup carried out by Victor Banjo, Adewale Ademoyega (Yorubas), Chukwuma Nzeogwu (Opanam, Delta), Emmanuel Ifeajuna , Chris Anuforo (Eastern Nigeria), was termed an Ibo coup and Northerners started killing the Ibos everywhere until Ojukwu called the ibos to return back to the East. My brother I ask you to check your history one more time, and to help you, try reading "Why we struck", by Adewale Ademoyega. You cannot classify the Ibos as rebels. In that incident, it was the Northern Nigeria who rebelled against the ibos, by overthrowing Aguyi Ironsi, and killed any ibo person in sight.

The original recording was indeed done in November 2007. Those watching the tape should pause at 18.56 and the full date and time of the recording is there. The doctored tape has got a headline pasted on the date and time slug. This is because the date and time line is embedded (Fixed inside ) that cannot be altered without cutting the tape. The lady in question could be exonerated with the diabolic tape being paraded by Sammy Gyamfi and his boss President John Mahama , Flag bearer of NDC, who wants to use corruption as a weapon to defeat President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo. Considering the way and manner the minority NDC parliamentarians misled the Special Prosecutor, Mr. Martin Amidu to believe that the rules or guidelines he used to access Agyapa transaction was done before Agyapa documents were sent to Parliament, calls for a quick and swift intervention of forensic and cyber crime experts to interrogate the tapes and sanction all those involved without delay. I have been tempted to come into the case, because of my deep background as expert in Investigative Journalism, cyber operations and ICT related issues. Further, I did Political Communications as a minor course in my Masters of Art in Communications in Leeds University in 2000. We were the pioneers for that course and I was a team player and a team leader. The other issue of family and friends being peddled by former President John Mahama agauinst President Nana Addo also goes contrary against the former president. The former President decided to push his families to juices positions outside the main stream politics, where they would have to declare their assets. For instance two of his brothers were heads of the Scholarship Secretariat in Accra Head office and the London office. The one in London office, was a Director, who by virtue of the arrangements at the Scholarship Secretariat was receiving a higher salary and therefore was above that office. Yet he was pushed there and his salary became a major drain of the funds for t the students in UK. The one at the Accra Headoffice, attained 60 years and was hurriedly issued with another two years contract. The workers who complained about this were nearly transferred unblock by the Deputy Head of Civil Service, but for my personal intervention that made the Head of Civil Service to intervene and stop it. Another brother of his had hi-jacked the Cocoa , Coffee and Sheanut Association as President during former President John Atta Mills era up to date, without organizing elections. He is an absentee cocoa farmer, having been bought a coca farm at Goaso by the then Brong Ahafo Chief Farmer. An attempt to interview him as part of some investigations led to threats on the writer. On a more serious note, the wife of the former President was indeed the one who was in charge of the supply of fertilizer to thre Cocoabod. This dates back to when he was the Vice President. The fertilizer which was not tested and has been a subject of court action all points to that direction. I was appointed the Ghana representative of an International company dealing in the world's No1 Organic remunerizer, that can be mixed with the artificial fertilizer to enrich the soil for cocoa and other cash crops, but for the wife's monopoly we were discouraged to pursue the transaction. By law, a special farm should be created by Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG)) for evaluation of the fertilizer before larger quantities are ordered, which was ignored in the case under review. The Agyapa transaction compared to the Nyiniahini Bauxite lease to the former President's brother is a much serious indictment and infringement of the Ghana laws. In actual fact, it was the flaws in the Nyinahini transfer and the way the Oil reserves allocations were handled in the Western that led to the crafting of the new law to protect Agyapa, the same law which Ghanaians are being made to believe have been flouded by the very transaction that is driving the laws. It must be established that, the writer has nothing to do with either the NDC or NPP. He is not a card bearer of any political party, has never met the current President face to face before, nor had he been to the former president before. He used to be the defacto Public Relations Officer to the late Chairman Jerry John Rawlings of the erstwhile Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) after handing over to the PNP in September, 1979. These were the turbulent days where the Military Intelligence were trailing Captain Kojo Tssikata and Former chairman Rawlings, and anybody found closer to them were hunted or treated like enemies of the state. This era saw Kwasi Adu, who was the aide to Chairman Rawlings, Chris Atim, who was the aide to Captain Tsikata and the writer, who was the defacto PRO getting sacked from their respective employments at Gihoc, AESC and Ghana Standards Board (now Authority ) respectively. At a later time we, were delve into other matters, but for now, Ghanaian s should discard the noise about bribery and corruption scandal noises, which could not be substantiated or proved as compared to the already committed acts and omissions, such as the Airbus and Embryo planes scandals. The electorate should base their assessment on what their eyes can see or what they can touch and feel. Finally, it is also a fact that the 231 years of US Presidential Politics, dating back from 1789 to 2020 have been dominated by two political parties, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. The Republican Party has produced 19 presidents and the Democratic Party 17. Three other political parties produced the first 10 presidents for the first 40 years.. They were the Democratic-Republican Party producing Five Presidents, the Whig Party producing four , and the Liberalist Party producing one president, John Adams (second US President) , who refused to hand over in March 1801 to his successor.

Each nations can solve their problems easily if USA does not mix them. USA is the source of most of the conflicts in the world.
