Great review, I have this set with the m1 grill and have just received their new cook set too. The quality is superb on all parts, just wish I’d have more time to use them more, that’s my next mission having only used the grill and fire pit a few times so far!!

Very true! It's a pleasure when you do get to use them.

how long do you have to wait to pack it up? I imagine the metal would be very hot after use..

I don’t have an exact time for you but the thickness of the steel allows it to cool pretty quickly with the pivot seams holding heat a bit longer. Cool enough to work with within several minutes after dumping all the fire out of it though, just always do a quick check before grabbing it to prevent burns.

How has the fire safe and grill held up with continued use? Any warping at all?

Great question, it's been doing well! One thing to note though is from what I've validated, it's more of a niche hiking campfire when no fire pits are an option. I'll typically travel with a camp stove for cooking popcorn on a trip rather then taking this set up so it does not get much use compared to my liquid fuel stoves.

Looking at this as a way of keeping warm on some back country adventures (I have a jetboil stove for all my cooking needs). Thoughts on that regard? Is it big enough/hold enough wood to give consistent warmth?

Good question! Personally, think it may be too small to be able to put out much radiant heat, it's far more localized which is why it works well as a small grill or for getting your fire off the ground in restricted locations, it's less than a square foot. The seat I am on is about as low as you can get and the flames are still a good distance away from my body (meaning not much heat is received). You also wouldn't want to load it with large logs which really have the most energy. So if you're talking about a group sitting around a campfire to be warm then probably not. But if this is climb out of your tent and warm up your feet or hands and enjoy a little fire versus only having a jet boil, (assuming you can't have a ground fire) it would work for that!

Thanks for the review! I've been looking at these but have been hesitant due to the price, but it looks like way better quality than similar grills I've used in the past (made from aluminium which warps upon first use...). May have to give one a try :-)

It's been doing well especially when you are required to keep the fire off the ground!

Cool content. By any chance are you a mechanical engineer or a designer engineer, or both???😊. Need help with a project

@@PhilipBlank I’m run my own dog grooming business and I have a solution to a major problem. I can’t talk about it here. But I was told I need a mechanical and designer engineer to bring it to life
