I feel like this is a study of personalities. I don’t think Tiger ever gets that mindset when he’s down in a match. It’s gotta be tough not to.

Rewatching this course vlog and I love the way Mark challenges Dan's very understanding of the game of golf with his decision to "give up" at 4 down. The contrast in mindset is a fantastic look at how many different ways golfers (and other athletes) can approach the peaks and valleys of the game!

It's very interesting, watching and listening to someone so competitive as Mark. Even when he is down, he finds a way to convince himself he's winning: "So, I'm 2-down. I just got a birdie. But when I quit caring, I was 3-down. Now I'm only 2-down, so I must be winning." I commend Dan for his patience and understanding and willingness to cater to someone who always needs to be the alpha male (certainly mean no disrespect to Mark).

@@MarkCrossfield - It IS interesting that Dan is so competitive. He has a way of hiding it (lol). Although, for anyone to get their game to a level anywhere close to you guys requires a large amount of competitiveness, I'm sure. I really enjoyed this series of vids. Lovely course and you two are a great tandem. The variation in your approaches to the game make it fun to watch and educational, as well. Thanks for your work.

It makes sense to me Mark. I think when you give up or play like you couldn’t care less, you relax and end up playing better golf. Happened to me loads of times. I always play better than my 18 hcp when playing better single figure hcp golfers because my expectations are a lot less.

Seems the wind wasn't much of an issue. When we played, it was close to unplayable. Sand, and flying peebles really hurt! So many elevated tees made it hard to control the ball. False fronts, { and backs} . Thanks for filming. Have to play it many times{ Preferably low winds }

Mark a question for you. Scenery and the course are stunning BUT for the h'cap golfer are the greens just too much of a challenge? I think I would get frustrated with the ball running off the tiers 12 feet past the hole especially after playing a decent drive and shot to the green. Reminds me of the La Cala Asia course - Hole 2. Go check your Andalucia series.

Great Vlog Mr Crossfield, To your point of taking golf to seriously courses like Wolf Creek will eat you up. You just have to have a mindset that golf sometimes punishes good shots and rewards bad shots. I know you know that, which is why I'm baffled when you all look down on scabby (as you call them) birdies. Its golf, embrace the good breaks and maybe the bad breaks will be easier to swallow knowing youve got some good breaks in the past.

We like to joke more about scabby bodies and defo skank pars. But you are right not knowing it there makes for some funny swings when you get on the green.

I can't believe how many people, who comment on this series want to play this abomination. This course embodies everything that is perverted about modern (especially American) golf course design. At about 13:30 Mark sums it up perfectly. Just because a course is in a stunning landscape and in a place where the sun always shines, doen't mean it's good.

Correct me if I am wrong, but as tricky as playing that course for the first time is, with your and Dan's skill set, if that was your home course and you played it a couple of times a week, I would imagine it would be a very short time until you were shooting some very low scores.
