Excellent video, sir! Had no idea there was an EGA version planned, that's wild.

I have fond memories of waking up late at night as a young child and watching my sister play this game. She would tell me "Dad says you're not allowed to play this game" and I would just sit and watch all night. Eventually I found it and started playing myself, and became an avid FPS fan ever since. Thanks for this video Anatoly. Keep making these.

This game made such an impact on me during the early 90s I wanted my bedroom wall painted to match the walls in the early game. Perhaps I said to myself even with a dead Nazi in the corner. My parents vetoed this as being absurd and rather too violent for a child but still the game had a clear impact on me at the time. The speed, brutality and challenge really stuck out alongside the other shareware games I had. Until I came across Doom and Duke 2/3D but even then I would still load up Wolf 3D for a spin regularly. In fact I still do that now even if I am much slower to react and end up dying far faster.

Wofenstein 3d introduced the motion sickness in the life of the videogamer

It's funny. I watch videos and others play Wolf3D, I get dizzy. I play it, I don't get sick UNLESS I am physically sick.

For some reason Wolfenstein 3D is known to cause motion sickness in people who can play other games without it. I believe it has something to do with the framerate it runs at.

When I was young, Dad showed me Wolfenstein 3d and he let me play, probably one of the reasons was because of "Can I play, Daddy?" Difficulty, and when I see a Nazi elite guard, I call them police officers, because of their blue uniforms and I didn't knew World War 2 was a thing.

Good stuff as always, although I'll confess I was a little bummed at the end to not see the door open and reveal, rather than a cyberdemon, a Doom-mod style Trump. ;)

What settings are you using? is it the default dosbox from gog? mine doesn't run as smoothly, not to mention i had to disable the mouse because i hated walking with it..
@dosnostalgic7 жыл бұрын
I have my own DosBox config. Honestly, I don't think there's anything you can configure much to actually affect the speed of the game. Just set your cycles to max. And, as you probably can tell from the video, I do actually use the mouse for movement, in addition to the keyboard.

Dos Nostalgia, i know by now the majority of dos games legal sites, reviews and games downloads. At least the important ones. Can you recomend some sites that talk about dos programs. I found in wikipedia about FractInt, wich deals with fractals, wich are zooming inside a part of a image and so forth. You were talking about some ideas people can ask you to do. I started on my blog about reviewing dos programs, but it is hard to find programs. But i'm on dosbox turbo reviews. So this is my idea for you. You can make dos programs reviews. dosbox-turbo-tutorials.blogspot.ro/p/blog-page_28.html?m=1

+Roarke I don't really know of any sites that talk about DOS software. But I'm definitely gonna be reviewing some in the future.
