@InvisibleAcropolis to me, inquisition looked washed out. this style is cartoony, although I do agree with Wolf that I don't know why this wasn't the official release trailer for the game. the only thing keeping this from being a game trailer worthy of playing before a movie is that the demons would totally look cartoon characters and not threatening at all.

Hi Wolf. I think it was poor marketing to not start off with this trailer as the official release trailer, but I think the game company probably realizes this too. I still like DAO the best. Despite its issues including the cartoony-ish animation, I still like DA2 second best. I don't know if I ever will finish DAI although I really do think they wrote Solas well. I want my character to be able to run off with him. I just can't get past that stupid ball reputation quest. I really wish that my brother played DAI so that he could do that part for me. After all of the fetch quests, the reputation quest just made me rage quit. Unless you like DAV, I'm not going to even bother, although I do love Solas. I miss the other DA characters too, but at least I was able to finish those games at least once. I lost count how many times I played DAO.

Not necessarily ... There is several hints across previous games (mostly in Inquisition, obviously) ... that Dread Wolf and Solas are actualy separate beings, who merged at some point in the past ... just as Flemeth and Mythal. ;)

So, this is a single player only game, no MTX, no release DLC, compatible with Steam Deck and doesn't require the EA App, fully offline, and none of the pre-order editions feature early access. I've been playing BioWare games for a long time and it's almost as if EA has...learned? I was already excited about this game, but no paid early access felt like one of the last hurdles to clear. Oh, and that trailer was pretty awesome, too.

I'm really pissed at the gaming community. EA has displayed major strides towards consumer-advocacy here, and it's being totally overlooked. This concerns me. EA won't do this again if gamers boycott this unfairly. No one knows what this has the potential to be yet.

Loving the cosmic horror vibe of the Evanuris too. Hopefully the Halloween release date indicates this will have plenty of dark and spooky elements.

According to some breakdowns of the lore so far, the darkspawn have assumed a different form based on circumstantial factors. They somehow mutate based off some kind of energy transference. Theres an in-lore reason, if I didn't misunderstand. Meaning, their old form still exists. Potentially in this game in different segments of the game

Why do people keep saying this looks like “Disney or Pixar”?? It looks NOTHING like productions from that company and feels so disingenuous to me. Yes, it’s stylized, but take a side by side look at the characters from this and DAI. *it’s not actually that much different.* Dragon Age, as a franchise, has NEVER done photo-realism. Maybe it’s more obvious now that hardware can support Photo-realism, but this has never been a thing for Dragon Age. And despite the stylization, the characters still look more realistic than they did in DAI.

Some of the characters / creatures look a bit like toys. Like they are made of clay or plastic. Maybe not full on Disney specifically but a bit childish / cartoony looking which makes people think of Disney. Look at the face of the demon at @19:23 . That's what monsters look like in Disney films lol Also if you compare pride demons in this game vs the previous ones it's very noticeable. It's not as much about wanting it to look "realistic," it's more so wanting it to look more mature. With all that said, the overall tone seems to have darkened & I'd say it looks a bit better now.

Everything's looking better and better each time they reveal something new. Plus PC requirements are fair and surprisingly, the price is not that high! I was sure they'll price it at something like 80-90 $ but seeing it at around 60 bucks is a really pleasant surprise. I'd agree if the first trailer was even just decent but it wasn't. It started the game off on a very bad note, and many of those players won't be won back. The darkspawn kinda look like they have red lyruim growing out of their arms

And they and the ogre have the swirled organic spikes on their forearms we’ve only previously seen on major demons. Not to mention the dark tendrils that look like they’re squirming under what little skin they have left on their emaciated bodies. I was particularly impressed with them in the dark. In early images, I thought they were just bleached white with glowing round bulbous eyes. Their faces are hollow, have skin stretched super thin with a sickly, clammy look (missing entirely in spots) and it’s like a burning pit in their mouth and eyes with the lyriun glow. Their teeth are also filthy around where the gums should be-and protrude from the skull to call back to the same face shape they had in origins (the little ones are clearly genlocks from their face shape)-which were meh at best in the original title. Just little green dudes shooting arrows. Hurlocks and broodmothers were really the only designs that gave me the ick back then. Even ogres just looked like horned darkspawn apes. The fear I had with those was in the way they moved and their sheer size-coupled with what you saw the one do at Ostgar. Their design wasn’t really that creepy until inquisition’s DLC-creepier in the promo art than in game. In some frames here, I agree they look goofy, but I can say the same about each of their previous deigns. In others, they look menacing. I’ll have to see them in more motion than the second or so we got, and not in random unflattering freeze frames to really make a decision. Basically, it looks like they fused the faces from origins and 2, then stripped them back to the skull and gave them less horns/antlers. What I don’t get either is why they made the head so much smaller than the chest this go round. That’s a bit odd given the top heavy nature of their previous designs.

The fact that Harding (my favorite ginger dwarf!😍🥰) is FINALLY romancable, makes it the canon romance for me. I dont mind the action combat either. For me in Dragon Age games, Combat is always secondary to the storytelling. I like the deep rooted commraderie and backgrounds of al lthe characters.. These characters look amazing and i was so excited to see the Dread Wolf. The dragons at the end feels like red and blue lyrium to me. This trailer was exactly what this community needed i think.

I'd also like to point out that in the lore of DA, dwarves are not able to use magic. Whether this is due to their immunity to the effects of lyrium or their lack of connection to the fade is up for debate. So its curious to see what looks like a spell being cast by scout Harding. I agree that this trailer should have been THE trailer. The group was going back to the forest AFTER the meet and greet with solas (you can see the statuess are gone). Hardin was scared because she just cast a spell, which dwarves cannot do. Bringing the old gods back and tearing open the veil changed the laws of magic, appeareantly. The biggest surprise was Morrigan coming back, hands down. Really was like WTF is MY GIRL doing here? ;D

Agree, it does feel more impressive than the original gameplay trailer, but worry that is because of it's cinematic nature. As someone without any knowledge of the previous games or lore, I wonder whether a beginner like me would understand a lot of what was going on though?

i would love to see community reaction for the deluxe edition, dragon s dogma had just few items u could get in game and people complained...here u get a lot of cosmetics that u can never get in game ...

My hopes are high honestly, it's been 10 years, and although origins is still masterclass imo, I still really enjoyed 2 and inquisition. I hope it's good, I really don't care for the decrease in party size though.

first trailer definitely missed the mark. this trailer actually represented the game really well. i've played more "modern" dragon age than any of origins so i'm not the kind of person that won't let go of that grudge. Andromeda was definitely a bad direction so my faith was shaken for a while but this trailer made me hype. the fact that this game even survived makes me excited it exists.

Why do I have a feeling when you get to Weisshaupt all of the Grey Wardens, except the one companion and little griffon, are going to be wiped out so Bioware doesn't have to bother tying in Hawke, if they didn't get stranded in the fade, or the Grey Warden from Origins?

Still very glowy and cartoony, but holy hells it looks so much better *than the character reveal* . It's at least darker and less like expecting a goth club but entering a rave. I'm VERY glad they tweaked the companion skins. They're still VERY cartoony but at least they're not as off-putting. This is the first time since the new name was released that I actually feel like I could *tolerate* playing it. I AM really frustrated that they put the iconic Blood Dragon armor behind a paywall. Given how much they've bagged Origins it bugs me they are charging for this.

Having purchased the BG pre-order deluxe edition and many ESO pre-order deluxe editions this one looks pretty good, especially the physical swag one. But only if you really are in to the franchise or think you will love the game. If you don't want to decorate your den then don't waste your money.

It doesn’t look that cartoony to me anymore. It certainly looks much more realistic than dragons dogma. The hair physics are incredible. Skin has subsurface, scattering and pores.

I think both look great. DD2 looks more “mature” and a tad more realistic cause of imperfections cause here the characters are a bit too « perfect » / smooth looking BUT it’s a style of choice and I like it first time characters look pretty 👍 and quite detailed.

This is definitely a much better trailer if they want to sell the game. After the companions trailer I'm still not feeling 6 out of 7 of them but maybe you can play solo? I do agree that the monster design is still pretty goofy but there are scenes that look less than terrible. It is also nice that all the cosmetics are fugly so there's no need to pre-order or spend money on a deluxe copy. I wanted to convey that I've gone from a never play to a buy at 80% off or play when its free but I don't think that's coming across :(

All dragons are not archdemons.. Only those dragons that are infected by the darkspawn and can command a blight are considered archdemons

Funny that now Dragon Age looks much more stylized that something like Final Fantasy XVI. I doubt that you would be playing this game if it wasnt something that you know, aesthetic wise this is totally something that you would hate

Unfortunately they've now got to do more to win me over following the first two videos. Luckily for them KCD2 has been delayed, so there is a gap at the end of the year they might be able to fill

Wish morrigan could just be presented in the way we’ve always known her instead of this politically correct safe modern-day audience version😒 Also, it’s so annoying with the quanari that every time I see it I don’t know what it is. I knew what the previous one was as well as the other characters but this time I don’t know. I wonder if that Crocodile Dundee move will be an option. It’s just annoying and an interest killer . Whatever 🤷‍♂️ Good video wolf. Was disheartened about KD2 release date being delayed till next year but I guess I’m not too surprised either. I have much more interest there but oh well

I would like to know what you think about this: The dragon that Solas (wolf form) jumps towards near the end of the trailer doesn't look like any normal dragon. Could it be the Maker? I'm guessing the tainted red dragon and blue griffin(?) are Elgarnan and Gilan na'in, so the kinda orange dragon is probably Morrigan, and the big ass terrifying one is the Maker. I think this situation probably turns out to be a bigger threat than anyone in Thedas imagined and we face the Maker himself. Also the terrifying dragon was on an art some time ago overlooking the Black City, so it really might just be the Maker himself.
