Is my pronunciation of "veil" starting to sound a little better? :-D Like Spell&Shield pointed out in a previous video's comment section, it's a linguistics thing. Where I come from pronouncing veil like "val" is completely normal. Pronouncing "alien" like "elien" is normal. Even when I actively try to pronounce it correctly, my mouth / vocal chords sometimes won't even move the way that they need to. I've been pronouncing things like this since my first words as baby wolf. But as long as they do actually make it possible to create a wide range of characters and not just more "realistic" characters like MEA did I think it's a good idea to release it early

Color me interested in a dragon age lore series. Dragon Age is one of the most well thought out settings in fantasy fiction. The way that it establishes things over the course of each game to only pay them off sometimes years later is extremely cool.

I enjoyed the end of DAI and Trespasser, I found it take some good story risks. If they stick with that thinking, I think the story can be really good. But, I have a lot of concerns. Then of course there is the gameplay angle, I dislike the continued actionization of the combat... if the story's good I won't mind anywhere near as much, but it's still saddening to me, because a game with a great story, good graphics, and that level of tactical gameplay (especially with the zany things you can do with magic) I haven't really seen since DA:O!

@@Sidblue1983 It's been some time but I believe (SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY FOR ANYONE READING ALONG) Flemeth is an incarnation or an avatar of Mythal, so I would guess by killing Flemeth using the method he did, he is opening up Mythal's spirit, potentially sending it back to the Fade as part of his machinations. If I had to guess, Solas's plan to bring down the Veil also probably includes resurrecting Mythal, since he seems to love her or have strong feelings for her (her death/murder is what set him on his Fen'harel crusade according to him). I could even see Flemeth in the material plane as some sort of.... phylactery is the wrong word, but sort of a storage jar for Mythal's power until the next part of the plan was ready. Solas seems HUGE on long plots.

I’m still going to be cautiously optimistic but it’s definitely getting more interesting. Also, with the semi open world it sounds like it’ll be like God of War - which is good as BioWare aren’t great at open worlds. One thing I have an issue with is if Solas was only going to…… **** spoiler **** re imprison the Elven Gods why did he need to stab us in the back? Especially if you are an Elf and romance him - the inquisitor and inquisition would 100% have helped him in this quest Edit - or even find another solution

Solas IS going to tear down the Veil. He said so in Trespasser and he repeated it in the gameplay. He first needed to make sure the last two gods were imprisoned... my bet is he will try to trick Rook and the last bit of the game will be confronting him.

Solas have always been reluctant to get romantically involved in DA:I. He have accostumed being alone and he says frequently how he finds it strange not being alone, if he gets close to the Inquisitor. Also, there are theories where he would be trying to resurrect Mythal, and that he was in love with her before she was killed by the Evanuris. Maybe trying to undo his doing to help the elves, who have been turned to slaves no matter what, makes him betray you.

So Warrior gets: Champion, Slayer and Reaper. Pretty standard for Warrior; aside from rebranding Reaver. Rogue gets: Duelist, Saboteur, and Veil Ranger. Maybe Veil Ranger is like DD Magick Archer? lol and Mage gets: Evoker, Death Caller, and Spellblade. The most "new" specializations of the classes. Obviously Death Caller is a Necromancer, but hopefully its got some Blood Mage in there. And Spellblade is gonna be our Arcane Warrior/Knight Enchanter equivalent.

There’s no berserker there’s no Templar there’s no blood mage there are so many classes that they are not in this game guardian spirit warrior so many classes instead they decided to make up their own imaginary classes I’m kind of disappointed about that I mean, seriously you have reaper slayer, which in my opinion, probably the exact same thing or like the same thing but you have no Templar class you have berserker class. Those two classes are huge and age. You have blood mage. Huge again now there are other classes that have huge classes. Also I just never played the rogue so I don’t have them off the top of my head and I’ve only played a little bit and I know there’s an arcane warrior. Blood. Mage spirit mage. Elemental list there was a necromancer class in inquisition etc.😊

And what’s up with the backgrounds like again there are so many backgrounds and instead of going by the organization you could choose a background from they just throw in things have never heard of that sound kind of lame and honestly like Vale jumpers at all these weird background guild things when you have already established Backgrounds throughout all the games you could choose like the chantry kingdom of Phone the teventer magistrate the circle s orlais dalish elf’s qun and all the other kingdoms are nations or other factions that are a part of dragon age instead of using them in the history they want to create their own history in their own guilds. It has an identity crisis. It looks too much like fortnight. The skills from what I can tell her all over the place. The enemies don’t look like anything ever ever seen before. I cannot even relate them to anything really I’m very concerned about the accuracy or saying true that the dragon age franchise and the franchise not being hijacked and made into a whole different franchise or game

They're doing some interesting things with lore, im curious to see them play out. We were originally told that it took all the lyrium in the imperium and the blood of hundreds of slaves to get the 7 priests of the old gods into the fade. But Solas's tower is there, and the veil jumpers are a thing. I'm really curious how.

I do miss some of the simplicity of it, but even from the first game, in which the very first time I played was as a Dalish elf, the story of the mirrors, the veil, etc all interested me. So I don't mind as much, but, I will say the absolute sidelining of the Blight storyline in 2 and DAI was a bit... weird? The Grey Wardens were even kind of treated as stooges in DAI, when part of the whole plot in DAO was "If the Orlesian wardens were here it'd be ok, but they're not, so it aaaaall falls to you, good luck!". Turns out the Orlesian Wardens would've probably been more hindrance than help, lol.

If Bioware is being honest about what is in the game, it will certainly be interesting, to say the least. And I don't get why more people aren't comparing the gameplay to Mass Effect. It essentially looks like fantasy Mass Effect. That isn't a criticism. Just an observation which would make sense.

100% it will be worse then what ME:A was to Mass Effect franchise. Andromeda had good combat, good overall world visuals/style (from day 1 of releasing any info on them). The problems were with story and character personalities (and their looks). From what we see: 1) Veilguards combat is cut-down worse version of Inquisition - smaller party size (less fun to have with team comps and experiencing game with interesting companions; even in game like BG3 one of the top mods is to increase party size), less active/usable skills (Inquisition had 8, which was way less then Origin, while Veilguard has 3??? ....3??????? ); 2) Visuals are horrific. Everything has horrible purple tint, everything has neon filter stuck to them, everything looks like it got fortnite style treatment (both characters and enemies); The characters look like they came from some looter shooter or BR style (fortnite, overwatch) game (look at that at foto 00:11 ... smells like checkbox list and not organic, normal story with companions you happen to recruit ... that qunari though ... wtf). 3) Story is not really know yet, but i have my doubts seeing the rise of forced ideology in these old major corporations. 4) Pronouns? As in sick/twisted ideas for sick people? Really? Just had to put them in here? Whats next? One of the companions will be queer pansexual with they/them pronouns and will check your privileges?

The DD2 thing is horrid and was never a part of DA games. Also, this game will be fully offline, even the worldstate building. So I could bet they would still allow for multiple saves. I don't know if there will be quick save/load, but that is something they always featured in their previous offline games.

What I don't like is that rook is meant to be competent, and that's why they are there, but that means your "competent" player didn't have enough information before this fight and then you get the magical connection to the fade...... doesn't seem like your character is really that competent?

*Story spoilers don't scroll down if you don't want to know* Either Solas is going to serve in a Johnny Silverhand role or his role has been reduced just like I suspected from the name change, perhaps it's both. Hyping him up as the main villain at the end of Tresspasser and then "defeating" him by trapping him in the Fade in the prologue is certainly a choice. Bioware did the same with the Mage-Templar War it is was this huge event that kicked off at the end of DA2 and then was resolved before DAI even began and instead we pivoted to Corypheus. Hopefully the Elvhen Gods won't be as pathetic as he was.

A previous game conflict stays at that previous game. DA games never are direct sequels, but instead inherit the world state from your past playthroughs. Solas will probably be a very big character still, but we'll need to deal with the two Evanuris before having to deal with him. I really hoje we get the chance to dissuade him from continuing his plan. Solas is a very complex and interesting character, that would be wasted if over simplified as only a villain.

@@GabrielPassarelliG If the Inquisitor couldn't I don't see why Rook could dissuade him. Solas at this point doesn't even see people as people they're lesser and not worth considering. Things could certainly change over whatever ends up happening in Veilguard perhaps all the senseless death being his fault and that fact eating at him causes him to change? He's certainly complex but I don't think that would be wasted if he stayed an antagonist/ villain what he's doing isn't that dissimilar to what Anders did in DA2, doing whatever it takes to change the world and damn all the consequences. Personally though I think he's stuck in the past and is pining for what was and needs to wake up and realize he can't go back in time, he can only move forward. If this was about ending the slavery of Elves I'd have a different opinion of him and would actually be tempted to join him but it isn't.

@@CrazyxEnigma At the time, the Inquisitor was almost dying from the mark spread, and Solas was free. Now, Solas is locked in the Fade, and apparently his only connection is Rook. We'll also dig a lot deeper on new lore that could help him understand.

What do you mean the Mage-Templar conflict ended before DAI even began? We literally go to the hinterlands and see the chaos of their war first hand as they’re killing each other and everyone else, did you even play the game???

@@AgiBunny They're bandits who ditched what was left of their leadership to go killing whomever they wanted, I even checked the codex entries on the fanwiki to make sure I was remembering correctly and I was. The war ended when most of the leadership of both factions died when the Conclave blew up and instead of tackling that as the main conflict of the game like I was expecting instead we pivot over to the world ending threat of the Breach and later stopping Corypheus.

I don't like it when people compare DA with BG3. In my opinion, DA is superior, with a very vast universe and well-developed characters. If you're a fan of BG3, I'm not looking for a fight. lol It's just my opinion. (and other people I know.)

@@julianakarina1951 I mostly agree with you for what concerns lore and world building because even if imo every DA has become worse also in that regard, I still think they are more interesting than a bog-standard Forgotten Realms story. But we are speaking of a videogame we have to actively play, unlike with other media, and from that point of view (game's mechanics) it's already something I don't like and no amount of good writing/lore will save it, because if all I want is "just" that I can read a novel/comic.

I’m with you 100%. I’m so burnt out on action RPGs and loved the tactical combat and swapping in the first three games- it was so fundamental to the gameplay it seems odd they dropped it.

All of this gives me more hope that the game will be at least a good action fantasy game, if not a good DA game. Such a expansive character customizer alone and that massive skill tree might make this GOTY for me if it releases in a good state, meaning if its not a buggy mess. I actually appreciate that its not open world this time around because Inquisition got a bit tiresome after a while because of all the little things you had to do on the map to gain xp, materials etc. Im still not sold on the change in visual style in terms of demons especially but it will probably grow on me as i play

The Witcher 3s biggest con is the fact that’s it’s a huge open world that has thousands of randomly generated encounters for the sake of it. It doesn’t make the game fun it simply makes it bloated, BioWare does better with a linear design as seen with Origins as everything is handcrafted and not built like a chore.

@@mattmaas5790 Eh I'm seconding Miq on this, one of the major problems in most rpgs nowadays is pacing and one of the number one things that messes up pacing is open worlds and besides different linear and big levels has kind of been Bioware's style for the past 17 years at this point and big open worlds kind of mess with the pacing of how they tend to write. I think Andromeda and Anthem should speak for themselves in that regard and Skyrim is possibly the worst example you can bring up (game which is popular yet VERY badly designed).

I can pretty much guess the entire story beat for beat. If Solas was able to trick both the Forgotten Ones and the Evanuris and trap them via the veil then there is no doubt in my mind he would be able to manipulate the player from within the fade in our minds. So, he's gonna help us kill the last 2 Elven gods that way theres no more threat to the world and in the process of doing that manipulate us into tearing down the veil so that by game's end the fade becomes one with the world again. The elves regain their immortality. The black city reappears, Solas is free again. Set up for next game since there's now free roaming spirits, demons, immortal elves, and an entire BLIGHTED CITY and the Chantry losing power cause their entire faith is essentially being proven false

By far I have predicted that he knew there was something going on that was bad. Which there was, the prisons were failing. I also predict that he wants to take down the veil for another reason other than just the elves. I think he wants to take it down because it's extremely weak and it's a prison which is a building and we all know vacant buildings fall and cause massive destruction. I think he would rather save who he can rather than waiting and letting the world fall

far as I can see, it's an relic weapon used by certain dalish sentinels. There was some concept art a while back of 2 of them using it to form a magic shield against some projectiles.

Agreed, I can't believe after how the dialogue wheel flopped in Andromeda, they are still using it. Having only three ways to respond to dialogue can get quite predictable after a while, and it also limits how the player can interact with the game. Honestly, even most visual novels have a better dialogue system than the dreaded wheel they've got.

To me it seems to have soft confirmed that "The Old Gods" and "The Elvinarus" are one in the same. If we look back at lore 5 blights have happened so only 2 old gods exist. 2 Elvinarus have been freed. Andrul was introduced to the blight when she traveled to the void so she became corrupted. What it looks like is we are dealing with a potential double blight as the dark spawn can sense the corrupted Elven gods. The Grey Wardens in the comics are really not good and aren't doing great either. A great divide has occurred. There is a lot more happening then most are aware of unless you're elbow deep in lore.

They can even fight the dark spawns( but not as effective as the Wardens for obvs reasons)

I believe they are moving away from the mage templar conflict, it was resolved in Inquisition and the post game credits have the new divine either reestablishing the circles of magi and the templars with new reforms or abolishing them all together in favor of new institutions. As for warrior specializations, its being left out in favor of Champion, Slayer, and Reaper, so any anti mage abilities will probably be in Slayer.

@@onyxelite0188 The templars of Tevinter are really different than those from other places. First: the Imperial Chantry is different, and ruled by male mages. Second: the Templars don't have magical powers, they just use, under very strict permissions for special cases, anti-magic enchanted weapons. So in Tevinter not only there is no mage/templar conflict, but in fact the mages rule over almost powerless templars.

Good vid wolf . thought it was interesting that they’re including loadouts. Strikes me odd but 🤷‍♂️ Also it’s strange that they decided to change the demons appearance. I think we both know ultimately the real reason as to why they did that as again , they made that quite obvious😉…. But even then it seems disingenuous as the demons appearance in a lot of ways is the representation/manifestation of that entity, whether it’s pride or sloth or desire. So now they’ve removed that representation and manifestation so curious about your thoughts on that?

I can't figure out this one. By the design of characters and the campy vibe, it feels to be targeting a younger audience. But then they seem to be making a lot of emphasis on romance and talking about grim environments. So will this be a game for adults only? I guess the answer would be that they are targeting teenagers... but I'm not sure if teenagers will have interest in romancing a Dwarf... maybe teenagers are different nowadays then back in my day.

Gaider decided after DAO to move on to what he called his long march with blood magic red lyrium and the chantry vs mages storyline and veer away from the warden darkspawn blight storyline. I thought there was still a lot of the DAO storyline he could have told but he decided otherwise. If i buy this game a big if and do a romance it would be neve. Unless we can romance npcs . She looks halfdecent. Harding looks like she has small pox. They tried to make freckles but botched it.
