The nat 20 on the last inspiration point for Orpheus... I'm not crying you're crying! Jesus man.. you could not of wrote a better outcome! And so fitting to your characters journey! Though she had a harrowing past, she was the one who lived life to the fullest, drank in the wonders of the world the deepest and dove into to passion the furthest. The brightest flame burns the shortest, and though she may wish for it to continue, she would be content with passing if you would be there with her, and her legacy carried into the future within your heart.

@@zg1k68 Nah. If Larian lets me one day through DLC then I'm marching straight into hell, killing Zariel, finding a way to remove that engine from Karlach, and bringing her back home. Until proven otherwise, my head canon is that after defeating the Netherbrain I did just that. I (and my character) will never give up on Karlach. She deserves a much better fate than death or rotting in Avernus.

2:06:16 just noticed but these monsters are called « illithid arcanist » meaning that they are not your regular mind flayers. Lorewise Illithids despise arcane magic. To them it is a bastardized version of their psychic powers. It is also implied thar arcane magic may have played a role in the giths overthrowing the illithid empire. They are said to actively try to kill illithids that delves in arcane magic. The few illithids that do so nonetheless often are looking for a way to immortality (remember that illithids believe that after death their souls are fused with the elder brain of their colonies and their collective subconscious while in fact the elder brain eats them) . Lots of them turn into Alhoons, also called illithiliches, powerful undead illithid spellcasters. In Gortasch episode, you found a journal by Gortasch stating they were in contact with an Alhoon that provided vital informations for the plan. I feel as if this is cut content: it’s likely that the Chosens of the Dead Three were manipulated by one or several alhoons to bring about a netherbrain and bring back the illithid empire. On the other hand, note that « arcanist » is not the typical way to refer to arcane spellcasters. In fact arcanist refers specifically to arcane spellcasters from the golden age of Netheril: the rules of magic were different back then and they were more powerful and more flexible in their casting than current wizards. I feel like they may draw their magical abilities from the karsus weave inside the Crown.

I watched each episode the day they came out. I looked forward to them like I did Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad. It was like watching a great, detailed and complex TV show. I LOVED IT! I looked forward to a new episode each day. And the ending was absolutely fantastic. You really helped tie all the characters and plot lines together- something I would have never known. I loved the ending but know I won’t know what to do with my day tomorrow. I've been watching your playthrough whilst playing through the game myself, sometimes a little ahead and sometimes a little behind yours. Watching you has saved my bacon a couple times (last light springs to mind) and even though i've completed both divinity games previously, watching some of the clever combat and environmental tricks you employed in your gameplay made me approach interactions with the game world and combat encounters in ways that honestly had never previously occurred to me which in turn enhanced my enjoyment of the game so thank you. Excellent lets play, really enjoyed it and its crazy to think that whilst you and i both played a "good" character and made often similar or identical decisions, our outcomes (in many cases down to the luck of the dice or different approaches in combat ala last light etc) are very different! I think you could play this game at least 3 times through before seeing all the major outcomes! Stellar game, stellar lets play! You've got a new sub from me :)

What a game! I finally finished my own first playthrough today, so once again I can watch forum posts and youtube without the fear of spoilers. Just watched your ending to see another perspective, out of the many, many, many different possible endings, but DAMN, our endings are almost 100% identical. I also went with Orpheus (even if my Lae'zel died at the Créche and never found out about her Queens lies), never liked the Emperor, found him extremely manipulative and secretive - would have loved to see a playthrough revealing more about what he would have done in the ending. But the way he sided with the Netherbrain pretty clearly shows his true goal. What a mindfuck for DnD lore his story have been. Again: what a game, what a ride! Now I feel a freedom, almost like I lost my own tadpole! (did spend 230 hours on the game, so I feel like I have been kinda under a control spell)
