Some say it's like Sabbath and Zeppelin were cryogenically frozen but took a knowledge pill and were thawed
in 2004. But it's different. It's no throwback or pastiche or parody, but a celebration of the love of music.
It's that goddamn Wolfmother band who have blitzed the Australian music scene and are set to do the same here
From Dimension's military, thundering drums, roaring axe intro and stunning melody, to Woman's showcase of
vocalist/guitarist Andrew Stockdale's shivery holler, right through to the chugging riffs and sludgy breakdown
of Apple Tree and the freaked-out psyche of The White Unicorn, this Sydney trio bring not only the noise
but also the nous.
It's not just that the tools in thier box haven't been used before, it's that they've never been used so well
or in such a unique, fitting fashion. A dangerously on-point voice, huge earthquake riffs, thrilling arpeggios
and tumbling drums going off like fireworks are all over the Wolfmother EP.
The EP was recorded by the band themselves in their small Sydney studio and then sent to the US for mastering
duties by Jim Diamond of The Dirtbombs, who brought the recording as close to the Hulk-sized live sound as you
could hope for. Since then, the band has played alongside the likes of Death From Above 1979 and The Black Keys

Exactly. That's where I heard it first. Heard the American release later, it was too polished. The raw sound of this EP is what made it, in my opinion.

I always remember feeling so disappointed when their first actual album came out because it totally lacked the sound of their EP. This EP actually FELT like psychedelic and stoner/desert rock. The production style in this is so much more thick and atmospheric than their album. The album was slick and clean and crisp. I could never understand why.

I remember my roommate at the time got a copy of this and we were hooked. when the album came out, not so much, they butcher woman and joker and the theif. won't hold it against Wolfmother, I am guessing the studio made them do it

@@phunz0r just listened to it again after seeing this comment. Fuck it is so good and God when the actual album came out it was so bad! My old roommate was convinced they would be like the next Led Zeppelin and well that definitely did not happen

This is definitely early versions of these songs dimensions instrumentals sound really nice but the vocals definitely aren't the best andrew sounds very strained at points and just doesn't sound good at points
