@@alexanderbarr8944 Jamaica had it's blues too. Although I love my country we have alot of problems. It's not all fun and games. The experience you have as a tourist is vastly different than as a citizen. There are many backward policies and and bad governance that goes on in Jamaica. It's still a beautiful and vibrant place so if you are truly interested then do research and find out all the good and the bad 😄😄

The most dangerous thing about visiting Jamaica is that you will leave a piece of your heart there and take some of Jamaica with you. I've been to the island several times and lived there for a summer. I can't believe it's been 6 years since I was last on the island and I still think about it. It never leaves you.

The beauty and charm of the island are wonderful. Seeing starving dogs and cats there is not. There is plenty of food in Jamaica. There is no reason for any animal to starve. Starving animals detracts from the charm of the island.

The people are SO friendly and SO amazing. I stayed at a resort, but rented a motorcycle one day to go find where Ian Fleming wrote his Bond novels. I found it and it was very cool but...on the way back, I got a little lost. I was driving down a little back road and a rather large local woman wa ed me down. I stopped, not knowing what to expect. She smiled broadly and said, "You are very lost, mon." 🤣 I laughed and said, "YUP!" She laughed as well and gave me directions back to the resort. Amazing experience. I truly love, LOVE Jamaica.

I didn't comment the last time, but will now. A HUGE THANK YOU!😊👍🏾 It's so nice and refreshing to see an honest open review of Jamaica from a non-Jamaican which I found informative, positive and unbiased. The only thing I would add is it also helps to have local Jamaican currency as well in some places. Was lovely to see the children enjoying themselves and the beautiful Mrs Wolters. Hopefully, we can link one of these days in beautiful Jamaica and show you around other parts of the island! Blessings!🙏🏾🇯🇲

Jamaica is also home to the University of the West Indies which is the only Caribbean institution on the worldwide list of top Universities. Even from elementary school through high school I would argue the Jamaican education system is better than America and Canada. So don't fall for the stereotypes perpetuated by TV and film. There are lots of highly educated, well spoken, articulate Jamaicans.

On what basis are u arguing that Jamaica has a better educational system than the US or Canada? Because they have a university in the top 5 percent of the world? Uhmm if u haven't seen the world university rankings US schools dominate the rankings the make up half of the top ten schools in the world and several others are in the top 1 percent. I've been educated in Jamaica and in North America and I can say that the north american system has its faults but it is an excellent educational system. Jamaicas system could be much much better with better resources. It is good but I wouldn't say it is fair to compare it to the other systems given the resource constraints it faces .
@PJ-vh6jr
@PJ-vh6jr 4 жыл бұрын
@@balrogboxer5572 It's my opinion based on my observations. Hence I say "I would argue". I don't wanna throw stats around cuz we'll be here all day. But Jamaicans who come abroad to study are much better prepared. Perhaps not more intelligent, but better disciplined, better organized, better time management skills and even social skills in a lot of cases. North American students I find are very unfocused, scattered, preoccupied with other things and unwilling to do the work. They need instant results and instant gratification. So I'm speaking more on the behavioral aspects not the IQ.

First let me say this...This man is THE TRUTH! I followed your advice during my trip to Belize and it was SPOT ON! I have enjoyed watching all his videos! Now...my husband is Jamaican. I have visited 9 of the 14 parishes thus far. EVERYTHING he has mentioned is SPOT ON! This is a very comprehensive video. If you follow his advice you not going to go wrong. Jamaica...EVERYTHING about Jamaica is BEAUTIFUL! I guess I can add two things. Please support the people. You have NO IDEA what they face on the day-to-day as far as finances are concerned. I feel if we are going to go love and enjoy Jamaicans home, SUPPORT THEM! Please. That $20 tip will go so far. I am not saying people are helpless by no means, but the service will be impeccable. So just reward that is all I am saying. The other thing I would say is take your mind past the beaches and ask someone to take you to a river. OMG! The cold, beautiful, FRESH river water is my absolute favorite. My husband is from Portland Parish so I have enjoyed the rivers there. It is my happiest place in life. lol And ladies...do not be offended by the admiration you will receive from the local men. From my very first visit there to even now I get a lot of attention. Even with my husband the guys basically tell him he got something here. lol And my husband just smiles and says "bless up". No offense given or taken. So if you tryna get your grove back or been a little down about yourself...go to Jamaica. LOL you will walk away feeling like you Beyonce. LMBO Enjoy Jamaica in all seriousness. I have traveled the world and no other place outside of my home state of Louisiana have I felt so at home:)

I usually throw in a tiny amount (not "hey mon" stuff, just a few locally used terms for places and things) when riding in a taxi - that, along with giving directions in enough detail to indicate that it's not my first time there. It's to indicate that I'll know if the driver is taking a roundabout route to increase the fare. I do this anywhere that taxi drivers are known to take the long route, including places in the US. My flat Midwestern accent gives me away as not being a local in a lot of places 🤣

Jamaica is my husband's favorite country to visit. We went water rafting near Falmouth during our honeymoon and had a blast! And yes about the crazy traffic and driving. I remember seeing (very narrow) streets jam-packed with cars and going up a hill on a one-lane road feeling like we were going to fall off because we were so close to the edge. It was by far the scariest car ride I have ever been on. Still had a great time there.

LOVED Montego Bay!!! Spent 6 days there in 2017 - The resort was magnificent...the food...the people. .the whole vibe was one you HAVE to experience before you die...The tours were quick paced, but still great - we saw so much in the different areas, and towns we went through. But he's right - traffic in Jamaica is white knuckle! Even riding on the tour busses was scary at times, but those drivers are super skilled at maneuvering the roads, narrow streets, and mountain passes. If you go - just relax, take it all in, and enjoy.

I was in Jamaica for the second time on a excursion. As my bus tour was driving my family and I back from a water fall . A guy jumped onto our bus and tried to sell us edibles. I bought a couple , and had a very relaxed ride back to the ship

I am Jamaican and I must say, that was excellent. Proud of how you represented my country and its people. Thank you Sir! I especially loved how you educated viewers on our culture of greeting people that you see "Good Morning, Good Evening" etc. So true, if you see someone and you don't greet properly, it is highly offensive. 'A just suh we grow' translation, that is just how we were raised. :) Peace & Love !!! 'Yeah Mon !!'
