While I like both please keep in mind Deadpool the PG - PG13 rated comic book hero and Deadpool the Hard R rated movie character are very different in many ways. Deadpool doesn't break the fourth wall as much as you might expect, though it varies depending on the writer, and is unquestionably insane in a sometimes violent and not all that funny manner.

Deadpool has a terrible healing factor. He feels every bit of each death and maiming just as he feels all of the pain. People call him insane, but the fact he can hold a conversation and still try and do good (within most iterations) shows just how strong his willpower is. People undermine him because he always comes back to life and likes to joke, but it’s never that easy of a process and he’s such a powerful character. Powerful is not in reference to his abilities I might add.

Wolverines healing factor restores cells to its ideal form (likely to when he was a fully functioning adult.....minus the cellular poisoning from adamantium on his bones). Deadpools healing factor just keeps healing nonstop even after the cell has reached ideal form leading to deformed cancerous cells. If his healing factor stops at any point now, he will die painfully of cancer in his entire body. In other words, wolverines regeneration knows when to stop, deadpools regeneration does not.

Honestly with the way a lot of writers portray Wade in these situations, he absolutely deserves what happens to him. He's been shown to have introspective and mature moments. He doesn't have to be an antagonistic agent of chaos just because he's an ADHD goofball. And by the same token, everyone needs to stop thinking that Wade feels nothing just because he jokes a lot. He has genuine emotions. It's not his fault that writers can't portray him with any sense of continuity.

I always wondered this in Deadpool 2. When Juggernaut rips him in half and he screams agonizingly and talks about not feeling his legs, then saying "oh there they are" when he touches his dismembered legs. It feels like he might really be screaming in pain but then regaining composure and making a joke out of it. Then again, we start the movie with a montage of him "offing himself" in very painful ways, so maybe it was just a joke all along.

Deadpool has been through way worse. the chainsaw sword got him, bones removed and turned into a cap by Good Night, Hulk ripped him apart, eaten by Zombies, his head was teleported off his body by Nightcrawler and hidden in a crater, and countless others (he probably avoids Elephants after an encounter😂). Deadpool is awesome. i was around 1 month away from being 10 years old when he made his first appearance in New Mutants Feb 1991.

i know someone like this Deadpool (personality... not super healing.. i feel like i need to specify because... people..) Anyway, he is impervious to insults and cutdowns, seems like he has the memory of a goldfish and is about as enthusiastic and forgiving as a puppy (a blue heeler puppy specifically. they're maniacs. little balls of happy hate. you know they love you because they try their best to rip you apart because it's fun. you are their favorite toy.) So this person has almost zero self awareness, it's nearly impossible for him to stay mad or even get mad or sad or anything. BUT .... because i know this person so well i am keenly aware that he does feel the barbs, though he doesn't understand why the other person is throwing them. "I didn't do anything to hurt them on purpose. i was just playing. they shouldn't be so serious all the time." is his mantra. He doesn't have many friends, knows he's unwanted and that people go out of their way to avoid him. but when he shows up anyway he relishes their disappointment. because SOME DAY you WILL appreciate him and his unique abilities. And he's right. He's very handy, very knowledgeable. he has skills and determination and is absolutely the guy you want in an extreme situation. you just can't get him to shut up. And God help you if he's ever proven right. I love this person dearly btw. When i first became aware of this character i immediately saw similarities. The car scene in Deadpool/Wolverine was especially funny because Wolverine finally got to him. But even then he didn't stay mad. Because you can't cross the line if there isn't one. And most of what was said was true, soo... *shrug* Anyway, Deadpool also has the healing ability similar to a frog. or... maybe a worm. which is especially funny to me. thankfully he doesn't grow back a new Deadpool with each missing limb. Wolverine simply thinks of his feet and uses whatever resources are available. Like any good soldier would.
