Anything has got to be better than Moyes but the Wolves fans I work with have mixed views on him. Some think their board sold players against his wishes but then didn't want to give him money to replace them and because of that, felt he was sold broken promises. That aside though, let's just see what any new manager does with our squad because it is definitely going to need repairing.

If that happens, it could be trouble. I am just looking forward to seeing a different style. Let’s be honest, we are on a bit of a downward trajectory at the moment. So even if he just comes in and stabilises us for a season it will be an improvement on where we currently are. I was very underwhelmed at him being the front runner, but I don’t suppose you get to manage Spain (and finish with a decent record) if you’re crap. I think if he can sort out our defence and play in a way which means our forwards aren’t having to spend most of the time on the edge of their own box (or looking bored and like they’d rather be on the phone to their agent pushing for a move) it will be an improvement on what we currently have. To me this has the feeling of a transitional appointment. Who knows, if it works Sully may feel like he can go for a more exciting appointment next time.

We can’t go on his time at wolves alone. Different situation. Different circumstances. If you want to look at his record at wolves then compare that to when David Moyes came to ‘save us’ after Pellegrini. Similar situation when West Ham were being threatened with relegation, yet Lopetegui did better than moyes did overall I would say look at his past record with Porto, Sevilla, Spanish national team and Spanish national youth teams Whilst I have a nagging doubt that this could be another Pellegrini style appointment, I am willing to give him a chance to see how it goes

The past few days i was coming round to the idea of him being our head coach and doing a good job and one of the video was WHN's interview with Ballugue... who we actually find out is Lopetegui's mate. So now i'm questioning the genuine nature of Ballugue... does he actually think he is a great coach OR is he just blowing his own mate's trumpet leading us into a false sense of security. I'm not 100% in on J LO and this video and POV from the wolves fans proves my doubts.

Lopetegui left a sour taste because some of our fans can't get their heads around why anyone would walk away from us, ignoring the rational perspective that if their boss tells them a load of lies just to convince them to leave their dad's deathbed to come and save us, they are quite within their rights to walk away and seek employment with owners they can trust in a project that meets their ambitions. Lopetegui played fairly turgid football, which is exactly as you would expect with a team lacking attacking cohesion at the bottom of the table with a geriatric Diego Costa up front. He wasn't helped by ongoing injuries to Hwang and Neto, who along with a now-acclimatised Cunha (who was Lopetegui's signing) have been the main reason we've scored a lot more goals this season. He took us from bottom to 13th with a higher win percentage than any PL Wolves manager before or since, with a better ppg record than O'Neil. Whilst O'Neil gets all the credit for our excellent opening day at Old Trafford, in reality this reflected Lopetegui more, since he'd prepared the team all pre-season and the notion that O'Neil somehow masterminded this in 3 training days is naive to say the least. Lopetegui's Seville tore us apart in the EL QF, which is more indicative of what you can expect from him than 22 league games at Wolves fighting relegation. It is fair to say Lopetegui's response to our chairman stringing him along was extreme, and a lot of fans have taken exception to his interviews with Balague outing the shit show behind the scenes, but in retrospect some should probably look at O'Neil being told he would get a striker, letting two strikers go out on loan and then the idiot in a suit moving the goalposts again and realise Lopetegui was never the problem, more the symptom. If you head over to Molineux Mix, our main fans forum, you'll see a very balanced view of Lopetegui outside the army of keyboard warriors and cry babies on x/Instagram/Reddit. Good luck for next season

I’m not sure with regards to Dawson being recommended to Wolves when J-Lo was there. Remember, he was Sevilla’s manager when we beat them, so he could well have remembered Dawson from that game. That said, it’s a little disconcerting what these lads had to say about Lopey’s character. That’s one of the pillars he markets himself on, and from what the Davids are saying he is very 2 faced. Red flag is up.
@chrisevans95636 ай бұрын
Lopetegui being misled by the owners at wolves doesnt add up though. Every man and his dog in Wolverhampton knew wolves would have ffp issues that summer. Especially with the spending spree in the January transfer window where Lopetegui was given a blank check. So when he publicly came out towards the end of the season as though he was surprised was baffling. So either 1 He genuinely didn't know - which is bizarre 2 The board told him to ignore what they everyone was saying about ffp and that they had a work around wink wink - which is naive 3 Lopetegui wanted wolves to do a Nottingham forest and not care about breaches of ffp and spend - as at that point no one had been given points deductions - which is dangerous And looking how things turned out for Everton and forest, they were right to tell Lopetegui no. Lopetegui himself has never explicitly said what happened, he has always been vague.
