Hello! I have watched all your video lessons. They are, indeed, very interesting and helpful. The explanations about the meaning and usage are excellent. Great job! They are few video lessons on this topic. Would you mind making a video lesson about archaic adverbs, such as whereby, wherein, thereof, thereto, therein, thereat,whereof, hereto, herewith, etc which are commonly used in formal languages. I`m very confused. Please and thank you. All my regards, Fazil

Please ,i would ask you to correct me if i m wrong in this example. I didn't train a lot. Hence, my fail come through.

Sorry for the late reply as I don't login to this account often these days. "I didn't train a lot. Hence, the defeat / my failure to..." My (Pronoun) + fail (verb) = Incorrect structure

good video. thanks. How to use 'hence' in the middle of the sentence accurately? (with punctuations)
@confusingwords46013 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking. Punctuation (,) is usually omitted if 'hence' appear in the middle of the sentence. For example: "He was a man of unrivalled bravery, hence his name - Valour." In this case, 'hence' is used to link the noun phrase "his name".

@@confusingwords4601 I feel this is wrong. Or these kind of sentences are different. Like I found the same explanation in the Cambridge dictionary, but what about the below: I robbed a bank because he didn't had food for the past 3 days; hence, he should not be given a severe punishment. I feel this is the correct use of hence or therefore or however - in the middle of the sentences. What do you think?
@confusingwords46013 жыл бұрын
@@pintipop5386 Thanks for pointing out my punctuation error for 'hence' in the video. It's acceptable to use 'hence' instead of 'therefore' in a formal context. Otherwise, 'hence' should be used to mean "which is the result of". You may refer to the correct use of 'hence' like this: a) (Sentence), hence (noun phrase). or b) (Sentence); hence (noun phrase).

"Hence" has been causing a lot of confusions. Some say that it's just the same with " therefore " while this Blog says it's not. Some say that hence is a conjunction just like "therefore" and etc., but this Blog says " Hence " isn't a conjunction but an adverb! Hmmm.
@eugenemalonzo7993 жыл бұрын
Look at merriam webster dictionary to figure out your answer. The blogger in this video. He is telling the truth about "Hence" it is an truly adverb

I would recommend you change the way you say "bye" at the end of the video, you know is not a good sign to extend your hand like that. Awesome video tho!
