I don't know why the comments say that Vera loved her daughter so much, so she sacrificed her love! I will tell you as a mother that a mother’s love for her children always exceeds what others think or will think. It is a love that welcomes sacrifice and has no place for ego. I am not an ideal mother, but in reality I might kill for my children, so do not talk to me about a person she only knew for a few moments and you wonder how she left him to return to her daughter! She threw herself off the house to get back to her daughter. Damn, if she had to throw him, she would have done that too

She loved her daughter enough to risk everything to get back to her, even taking her own life. She had love, her dream career and a good life but maternal love trumps that (for her at least) and maybe she if she’d stayed she wouldn’t ever get over loosing her daughter. So she returns, get her daughter, finds out the truth (will being leaving the cheater) and meets Nico (implying that they will be together). The idea of doing the right moral thing runs through out the movie, despite what the later consequences. Vera knowing nico would die warns him, nico spends his life tiring to get justice for Hilda, both of these are for selfless reasons, later they make choices for semi selfish reasons but still do seek justice and are rewarded with similar positive outcomes

@@mithilamajumder6577 there’s nothing to suggest it, so I doubt that’s the case. It would complicate things. If anything he could be separated, divorced or widowed. But to have him be in a relationship when “meeting” Vera would go against the its meant to be, things happened this way for overlapping reasons.

This recap is somewhat incomplete. Once she returned to her original timeline and reunited with her daughter, she DIVORCED her cheating husband and found her way to Nico once again the implication being that they would be together eventually. So now, she has her daughter and her soulmate and finally gets rid of her sleezebag of a husband
