I accidentally bought this movie at a thrift store. Didnt watch it for a long time. Internet was out one day, so i said "why not" ? And watched it. I was blown away by how good this unknown movie is! Cillian Murphy stole the show, but everyone in this movie is fantastic! 10 outta 10 would definitely recommend!!

Such a beautiful film, he started out trying to find his mother but ended up finding himself and a home, the ending it's bittersweet since he never reunited with his mother but to be honest he was better off without her. Cillian Murphy gave such a stelar performance, he didn't play it off as a parody of a woman or simply tried to hard to act like one, the character was a man with a woman's soul, a very kind and sweet sometimes naive soul, and that's exactly how he portrayed it.

This reminds me a little bit of a movie I have been trying to find again since ages. I'm going to describe it from what I remember in case of. It's a movie I saw on TV in the mid-late 2000s as a kid in France. I'm not sure when the movie is from, it could be from the 60s or the 2000s I really don't know, I think it had a timeless look. It's a drama. So the movie happens in Europe, maybe in Germany. Two mothers give birth at the same time but the babies are exchanged for some reason. In their adult lives, one of them has became a transsexual woman. He's a blonde woman with mid-long hair and wears very elegant clothes. He's depressed and deals with being a trans woman and stuff. He finds out about his situation of being an exchanged baby at birth, maybe finds the other one. I just remember that at the end there is some kind of family reunion and while he's in the stairs in a beautiful dress, he shots himself. Or something like that. Anyways this movie haunted me since then and I find it crazy that I can't find a movie with such specific plot elements. Then maybe I'm mixing different movies because I was just a kid.

This recap seemed to last forever with all the "chapters", I can't imagine sitting through the whole movie. Cillian Murphy is a genius, but I prefer his Peaky Blinders character over this one.
