I hate that you're not smart enough to figure this out yourself, but you were probably in control of yourself and your actions at the time and made the choice to be a thief. I was caught with over an ounce of MDMA and got a way harsher sentence than this woman did for stabbing somebody to death but I understand what I did wrong and I chose to possess those drugs. She had no history of violence, no previous charges and there's not plenty of science to show that THC has the potential to trigger psychotic symptoms in some people.@@trophyscene5015

The defense successfully argued that she was pressured into taking the last hit of weed by her boyfriend and she went into cannabis enduced psychosis. I'm not gonna pretend like I understand the law but I at least think she should have been in psychiatric care. As someone who also hallucinates pretty badly on benzos and will just straight up attack people, I kind of empathize with her. I have epilepsy and it's common practice for hospitals to give Ativan to break a seizure which I can't have. I have to call every hospital and tell them not to give it to me if I have a seizure. One time a nurse decided she didn't understand why and gave it to me anyway. She got bit so hard she screamed. I have a pretty similar experience with weed just less violence and more sheer terror. You don't know what that's like until you've been there. She has to live with herself.

you need to purposely drink and drive, see the word i use there? "purposely" ie it was your choice to drink and drive. You get charged for manslaughter, not for murder. Difference? Manslaughter is you kill someone for being reckless. Murder is you intentionally wanted to kill somebody. being under the effect of a psychotic trance for smoking strong marihuana is different, she couldn't have known beforehand that she was going to be a danger to her boyfriend. You can argue that she did it on purpose anyway, and im sure prosecutors went that route, but the fact that she stabbed herself 43 times as well, and her dog too, accompanied by her empty criminal record, shows that she was indeed under a psychotic trance. so no, not the same. This is why this woman is doing 100h of community service instead of a 1000, because prosecution made the same dumb comparison as you're doing

I thought for SURE we would hear that he beat her or something. Nope. So this means anyone drunk who kills someone while driving gets off too? I mean, they aren't in control, right? Who among us hasn't misjudged the strength of a drink? I would be interested to know what the judges position is on the legalization of marijuana. What if this is a political move?
