I was simply saying that when it comes to the color of a newborns skin you cannot judge what color a child is going to be right away, most of the time it takes time for the color to fully settle. I said I was puerto rican and mentioned my children because both as well as myself had been born with a lighter skin color than we actually have. It's more common than I think a lot of people think.
