I don't know. Some of these stories have been intrusive, but they were respectfully out of the way reporting from a distance. This absolutely is a news story, and part of why we have the news cover stories like this is so curious on-lookers don't all have to crowd the streets, but instead can just turn on the news. And if I were in that situation, having the news cover it might actually make me feel less alone and have an odd sense of normalcy and feel like people cared about my plight. Plus, for all we know there might be moments when the camera isn't rolling that the reporter and person holding the camera might even pitch in with the efforts. That's definitely a skill. There's only only so many water sources, so too many people pitching in is just getting in the way, but if they see an opportunity to REALLY help my guess is they would do it. I've seen reporters do that before. Yes, some people would see it as an unwanted intrusion, but if I as an introvert might appreciate the company during crisis, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would feel that way.

I live in south la. Someone exploded a stolen Range Rover next to our house. First thing I did was wet the roof with a hose. Even with insurance, who wants to lose it all if there’s a chance to save it. Even the firefighters wet our house before wetting the car. It was so close. I can’t judge these people. No they are not, my area San Marino (6 miles from altadena) is getting next to zero help. On my block alone 3 homes over $10m are gone, 3 others being build at 15+ was finished last night. My parents home, sisters, and myself are probably done for by tonight. Is it sad and frustrating, yes. But we know we will be okay. Praying for those in altadena, Monrovia, and apartments..

Back burn the lawn so there’s less to catch fire - trim back plants close to your house, saturate your outer walls/over water as much as possible and then EVACUATE. Take what you can and get out before you get trapped.

Embers blew in the high winds up to two miles away and started many new spot fires. Makes sense that an ember from the house burning across the street could easily blow only a few yards and land on a roof or in a yard and catch it on fire.
